Chapter 43: Truth Untold

ASHLEY SUCCEED IN KILLING ALL the dead corpses with the help of Wei WuXian's dizi, Chenqing. Jiang Cheng and XiChen couldn't believe that she somehow been recognized by it, she stopped playing and unknowingly flew back down towards them.

XiChen honestly never knew how Ashley cope up with them since she never start cultivation. 6 years ago, Lan Wangji is the person who is going to teach her. But under circumstances, it was postponed because she return in her time...

to wait many years more to make the return of Wei WuXian foretold once more...

"Ashley." XiChen called while she stretch a soft smile, she hurriedly walk towards him and embrace XiChen tightly. Jiang Cheng became speechless, all of his life waited to hear Wei WuXian played but now his reincarnated person is in front of him. He can't help but feel this odd solace that he wanted to feel for a very long time.

Ashley crossed her arms, "Well, is my playing good?"

"Of course, you mostly slay all of them." XiChen proudly replied and patted her head, which she blushed in response.

Jiang Cheng raise an eyebrow, "This is weird...I thought all of the sects came here to have war." he spoke.

Yeah! this is strange indeed... Ashley thought before their attention went towards of a man who exclaimed, "JIN GUANGYAO OF JIN CLAN IS HERE!"

A-Qing the young 'blind' maiden keeps pulling Song Lan's sleeve, "Zichen, your just in time! Daozhang and that candy guy are fighting! I-I am so scared that is why I run towards here..." she exclaimed while Wei WuXian get what she meant.

"So that candy guy is Xue Yang!" Wei WuXian pull Lan Wangji as all of them follow A-Qing, who became so scared as hell. Song Lan on the other hand began to have this gut feeling, it is truly been a while since he saw XingChen and never expect that in this situation is where they'll both meet.

A-Qing lead the way, without questions occurred by the junior cultivators. Jin Ling on the other hand felt so much conflict whether he should trust Wei WuXian. He remembered how he save him alongside with HanGuang-Jun from his almost death, so he cannot protest.

Even he is or not the person who killed his father.

As they reach the path where A-Qing is taking them, they immediately hide. Wei WuXian easily recognize the sword grasp by a figure fighting with Xue Yang on the back. Song Lan couldn't believe that in all of the possibilities that he and XingChen would meet, this scene is the unexpected one to meet.

With XingChen's tight hold towards his sword, Frostwork towards Xue Yang who continuously laugh maniacally, "How sad you let that little blind away, it will be so much fun to cut that small trouble tongue of hers!" he exclaimed.

XingChen's icy blue eyes redden in anger, yet his calm persona succumb him so he let out a deep sigh, "Xue Yang...don't include A-Qing into this...you commit many crimes in the past..." he point his sword towards him, "...and I won't let that happen again!"

"Eh?!" XiChen silently mutter in response while Ashley never been so shocked, "What the fuck? He has the guts to show up..." she silently commented while Jiang Cheng pat her right shoulder blade, "Hey,  watch your mouth, girly." he replied.

Ashley let out a soft chuckle, not long she saw Jin Guangyao in the flesh - walking towards them. She hesitantly hid Chenqing towards Jiang Cheng, who easily get what she is doing. XiChen stretch a soft smile towards him, despite the awkward atmosphere between them.

Jin Guangyao on the other hand, stretch a small smile. Ashley felt shivers crawling down her spine, Shiya...this guy is really scary...what should I do? she thought before he start to speak, "Yunmeng Clan leader." he bowed towards him.

Jiang Cheng gulped, "Jin Guangyao." He bowed as well, "What brings you here?" he asked.

Jin Guangyao ignored his question as he gaze towards Ashley and XiChen, "I never knew you both will be here." he spoke.

Ashley awkwardly bowed towards him, "I-I believe this is my first meeting with you." she replied. Jin Guangyao pause before she could even bow to him, he stretch a soft smile towards her, which it feels more creepy to Ashley even more.

Jin Guangyao, "Miss Ashley...no need to bow at me. A great beauty like you doesn't deserve to be treated so harshly." he replied.

Ashley never felt so much awkward and cringed to this guy.

"Oh? Hahaha w-well then..." she awkwardly replied. Damn! He is so scary! But shiya...his actions are cringy to me...I wonder if they notice it too... she thought and decided to play his game or whatever bullshit he is planning.

XiChen stared at Guangyao, "Well then, since the attack of the living corpses is over...then Miss Ashley and I should go with you. I assume the banquet is today, isn't it?" he spoke to cut off the tension between them.

"Well, that is the other thing I am going to say, Thank you ZeWu Jun..." Guangyao replied before he stared at Ashley who she silently read his eyes that is filled with dark yet lustful aura.

Ashley cross her arms to act tough, "Well, is Jin Guangyao heard the attack in Lotus Pier so you have the guts to go here, are you?" she asked. Guangyao chuckled in response, "Haha such feisty, I like that." he commented.

"Well, to satisfy your curiosity, I am eager to go in this place. After all, I am Jin Ling's uncle, by the way...where is he?" he asked. Ashley never been felt so cringed, wtf?! what a lame excuse... she thought.

"Err..." Jiang Cheng is unable to reply, it seems Ashley is right about him, Devious piece of s- before he could even scream in his thoughts, Ashley stretch a soft smile towards him.

Ashley, "Jin Ling is with HanGuang-Jun. He is participating in night hunts since He is growing to become the next leader of your sect, am i right Jiang Cheng?" he pat his shoulder where Jiang Cheng nodded, he pretentiously follow Ashley to whatever she is doing.

Jin Guangyao playfully smirk, "Well, I heard Miss Ashley is the reincarnated person of the infamous Yiling Patriarch..." Ashley's eyes widen in response, of course she wanted to act dumb to hide the fact she knew that he knows.

"...am i right?" Jin Guangyao added before XiChen interrupt, "She is, I want to clarify if the banquet is today?" he changed the subject while Guangyao stretch a small smile towards him, "Well, since the attack of Jiang Wanyi's sect occurs unexpectedly, the banquet should be held tomorrow...I am going to leave, see you, ZeWu Jun and Miss Ashley." he replied as all of them bow to each other.

After the chilling first encounter of Jin Guangyao, Ashley and XiChen went to the guest room given by Jiang Cheng. XiChen converse to Guangyao before he went back to his sect, Jin Guangyao declared that the banquet will be held tomorrow due to the sudden attack, so the both of them have a time to rest.

Ashley still caress Chenqing, she began to think that somehow using Wei WuXian's dizi is not somehow painful anymore. She conclude that perhaps her golden core still needs to strengthen, she stood and suddenly feel lightheaded. She caress her nose once more only to realized its bleeding again.

Damn...i should not use Chenqing often...I am not cultivated yet like Wei WuXian...she thought deeply. XiChen enter the room after a long night, he noticed Ashley's weaken state. He hurriedly walk towards her, "Ashley...what happened?" he asked.

She notice his growing concern, Ashley stretch a soft smile, "I-I'm okay, XiChen...i think I should give this back to Wei ying, I am not worthy to use this..." she replied.

XiChen caress her face, "Don't down yourself, you did a great job in there...okay?" she nodded in response. Her heart soften in his reply, an idea suddenly pop into her mind. She stretch a soft smile before she lean closer to his face and press her lips towards him, XiChen surprised in her sudden move but give in, kissing her passionately in response.
