His Detective

Chapter 9

The hickey that was marked onto Y/n's skin at Light's school didn't fade, yet, its color didn't seem to be more intense. Y/n was sure that it would take a few weeks before it disappeared.

"Have some tea," Watari says to Yagami.

"Thank you."

"Has Light told you anything about Misa Amane?" Y/n asked as she sat on a seat with L beside her.

"Earlier, when you heard her name, you reacted," L says.

"A little while ago, Amane was attacked by a stalker named Yukida. Light's name appeared in Yukida's cellphone history, but he said they just met once, and that was all," Yagami says.

"Was that stalker arrested?" L asks.

"He died in an accident after he attacked Amane," Yagami says.

"Not by a heart attack?" Y/n asked.

"It's fine if not," L says, smirking as Yagami goes out the door.

"Welcome back," Watari says, opening the door with Yagami entering about an hour later.

"Where were you?" Y/n asked.

"Just an errand," He says.

"You went to investigate Yukida's cause of death, didn't you?" L asks, turning the chair to face him.

"They said they'd contact me when they have the results," Yagami says.

"I see," L says, turning back to face the screen.

"Good morning. Welcome back," Matsuda says, waking up when he realized Yagami was here.

"It's still nighttime, Matsuda," Y/n giggled.

"It looks like he realized," L says, looking at the screen where Light was staring back.

"Ah! Light-Kun is...!" Matsuda yells.

"Light?" Yagami asks.

L called Light. Yagami and Matsuda then later found out that he and Y/n had already gone to Light's school and introduced themselves to him by using their alias.

"If you want to meet us, why don't you come here to the Kira Countermeasures office?" L asks.

"Here he is," Watari says as Light and Matsuda enter the room.

"Dad," Light respectfully greeted.

"Light, I am sorry about this," Yagami apologizes.

"It's okay. I understand the cameras. I knew that Ryuga and Akiko suspected me," Light says.

"How do you understand cameras? You can't talk to them." Y/n says, trying to crack a joke to break the awkward tension.

"M, it's not the time for a joke," L says.

"I was trying to get rid of the awkward tension," She pouted as L hid his smile.

"Light-Kun, it's been a while," Mogi says, greeting the said boy.

"Mogi-san! It's been so long!" Light says.

"I haven't seen you for a while. You've gotten so big," Mogi says.

"You've been watching him on camera the whole time," Matsuda reminded.

"Matsuda! That's not the point," Aizawa says.

"That's right! I'm sorry," Matsuda apologizes.

"I'm sorry I couldn't say anything," Mogi says.

"It's okay."
