"Kira Countermeasures Office?" L asks, plopping on a chair.
"I'll be investigating Kira with you from now on, independently from the case squad," Yagami says.
"How many members?" Y/n asks.
"I should be enough by myself," Yagami says.
"I must disagree. Your colleagues are right outside." Y/n says, looking at the CCTV footage.
"I'll escort them inside," Watari says as Y/n jumps onto a chair, making the wheels move and therefore moving her to L, who was watching the security footage.
"Do you think they'll be mad at what we've done?" She asks.
"Since when did you care?" L asks.
"Good point," The girl replies.
They sat down as awkward silence occurred throughout the room.
The silence gnawed at their insides. Silence hung in the air like the suspended moment like a gaping void, needing to be filled with sounds, words, anything.
The silence was poisonous in its nothingness.
The silence was eerily unnatural, like dawn devoid of birdsong. Silence clung to them like a poisonous cloud that, at any moment, could choke the life from them.
Silence seeped into their every pore, like a poison slowly paralyzing them from either speech or movement.
"It was Mogi-san who said we should all go!" A voice yelled, clearly unable to take the silence any longer.
'That's Matsuda!' Y/n thinks. 'I recognize his voice.'
"Matsuda. Matsuda. You don't have to tell him that." His senior says.
"Um...Chief. Is that..?" Mogi asks.
"I'm L. The girl is M," L introduces.
"Were you implying we are younger than you thought?" Y/n asked.
"I'm Matsuda. A pleasure to meet you." Matuda says as his footsteps thundered through the room.
"Bang!" L said, turning around, pointing a finger gun at him, taking him by surprise.
"Kira needs a name and face to kill. Don't tell people your real name." Y/n said as she turned around.
"The Veteran Mogi Kanzo-san. The Internet expert Himura Shoko-san. The fiery-tempered Aizawa Shuichi-san. The rather stupid Matsuda Tota-san." L says.
"Baka?" Matsuda asks.
"I suspected you would come, but you're a rather unreliable group. And a small one at that." L says.
"But isn't this what you want? Exposing your face to the case squad increases the danger." Yagami says.
"What do you mean 'increases the danger'?" Himura asks.
"I'm sorry for not telling you. The truth is, L's been investigating people connected to the case squad." Yagami says.
"You've been investigating our families?" Aizawa asks.
"This is L." L says, answering a call, ignoring everyone else in the room.
"What kind of person is your son?" L asks.
"He means Light Yagami," Y/n smirks.
After the task force left, Near called from Wammy's House. To say that Y/n was excited was an understatement.
"The victims all died of a heart attack. It's almost like their souls are all being stolen by a shinigami." Near says.
"Shinigami? If they exist, I'd love to meet one." L says.
