His Detective

Chapter 12

"Right this way," Watari says as Light enters.

"Hey, where have you been these past two days?" His father asks.

"Sorry. I wanted some alone time to think." Light says.

"That..uh...L and M were..." Matsuda says.

"Ryuga, Akiko, is Misa okay?" Light asks.

"Good question!" L says.

"Where did you plan to go on your trip?" Yagami asks.

"I didn't plan to go anywhere. That was a lie, so Sayu wouldn't get hurt. Dad, I'm Kira." Light says as Y/n's ears perk up.

"He admitted it?" L asks.

"Seems so," Y/n replies.

"Do you understand what you are saying?" Yagami asks.

"If Ryuga is L, and Akiko is M, then they say they're the best detectives in the world, right? If they're decided I'm Kira, it must be true." Light says.

"Light."

"Maybe I'm Kira, and I don't realize it. L and M think I am Kira. Even Misa's got mixed up in it. I can't believe in myself anymore. Is it possible...while I'm sleeping...another part of me is killing people?" Light asks.

"Can't be. We monitored you even when you were sleeping." Y/n states.

"We never saw any signs of you sleepwalking or anything like that," L adds, turning his chair around to face Light.

"If you are Kira, Light-Kun, I'm quite certain you're aware of it."

"Then, investigate me until you're satisfied." Light says, walking towards us.

"Investigate?" His father asks.

"Yes. If L and M are that insistent, Ill cooperate with anything you want to do. Until I can fully convince all of you that I'm not Kira. No, until I can convince myself!" Light yells. "Investigate me any way you want. Please! Give me a full investigation!"

"L, it's your call," I say. "IM fine with any option."

"Well, I find this all rather baffling, but Aihara-san, show Light-Kun to a separate room. Have him restrained," L says. "I had intended to call you here as a material witness in the Kira case, but I'm glad that you've spared me the effort."

"In exchange, if you become convinced that I'm not Kira, please let Misa go," Light says.

"We have the threatening letter and additional evidence that she is the second Kira, so I'm afraid no can do," Y/n replies.

"That could've been planted by Kira!" Light argues. "Please, L and M! I'm begging you!"

"Very well. However, how long will it take to clear you of suspicion?" L asks. "Not even I can imagine that."

"I'm prepared." Light reassures.

"Light..."

"I'm going to beat the terror of Kira that may be lurking somewhere inside of me." Light says to his father.

"Yagami-san, please drop out of the investigation. With your son as a suspect, I must forbid you from coming here as well." L says.

"Sorry. Please handle the rest," Yagami says.

"Dad...I'm sorry,"

It was so quiet that you could hear water drip without effort.

The two detectives got Light restrained and in another room with handcuffs and shackles on.
