His Detective

Chapter 17

The two possessed siblings were placed in jail cells beside each other. A grave mistake to make considering how insane the two were in their current state.

The next day, an officer that Y/n knew had the key to Matt and Mello's cells walked past and stopped right in front of her within arms reach.

When his guard was down, Matt grabbed his collar and made him hit his head on the iron bars, making him unconscious. Matt took his keys and opened the cell, unlocking Mello's too.

"They're free!" An officer yelled as three officers ran to them, intending to restrain them.

Mello nodded at his partner-in-crime as they started a fight, causing the officers to be knocked out before they escaped to a different hideout.

When Halle came in, Mello asked where the Death Note was. She didn't answer. But that was when Y/n saw a bomb on her.

"Did Kira...!"

They couldn't finish their sentence. Halle pulled the trigger as Matt and Mello were lucky to even get out of the place alive when it exploded to bits.

The next day, Light was called up by them. They placed the phone on speaker so both of them could talk to him.

"You'll pay for killing Himura, Light Yagami..no..Kira," Mello said.

"Himura was controlled by the Note, wasn't she? I'm guessing that you wrote for her to give the Death Note back to you and destroy all evidence before she died. Suicide, in other words," Y/n said, soothing the burn she got on her shoulder.

"I have no idea what you are talking about," Light replies.

"Don't play dumb," Mello says.

"You're under suspicion for the murder of my father," Light says.

"So, you finally killed your own father?" Matt asked.

"Admit your crime and give yourself up," Light says,

"Is it your plan to show my face to Mikami, the public prosecutor, and kill us that way?" Mello asks. "Just like you did with L?"

"It's our turn. We won't stop until we have killed you," Matt says.

Y/n clenched her fists on the steering wheel of the car. Her foot pushed intensely against the gas as she sped up. Misa was in the middle of the road. Y/n saw red for a moment. Just a few seconds before Misa got hit by Y/n's car, someone pushed Misa out of the way.

Matt groaned, slamming on the horn as he pushed lightly against the brakes and turned a corner to go back to the hideout.

'Mello should be trying to kill Light Yagami and Mikami Teru now,' Y/n thinks.

Y/n had gotten back to her hideout, and Mello was already conversing with Watari over the phone.

"How many of L's videos have you watched?" Mello asks.

"I've watched all of them," Watari replies.

"You know what to do, Watari," Y/n said as she hung up.

'It's time,' She thinks to herself.

The next day, Y/n could hear polices right outside their door. Mello loaded up a gun with bullets, and Y/n saw Mikami with her eagle-eyed vision. The metal door was lifted up, and Y/n fired her firearm at her ceiling.

'Kira is going to be caught at last,' Y/n smiles.

"What were those gunshots?"

"What happened?" Light asked through the walky-talky.
