"Where is he?" Y/n asked herself. "What if he is in trouble? What if he is dead?"
The girl was trying to sleep, but she couldn't as she tossed and turned, the worry she had for her younger brother eating away at her mind.
"He could be dead and I wouldn't know..." Y/n rambled as L held her shoulders, forcing her to look into his eyes of concern.
His eyes showed the gentle concern her grandfather used to have every time he laid his eyes on the wounds littered on Y/n's body that was caused by his daughter, her mother. L laid his hand lightly on her shoulder, and instead of flinching, it soothed her.
He left his hand there and spoke with such a soft voice Y/n felt his words calming her more because of the way they were said than the actual words. It felt as if he wrapped her in a blanket of his caring.
"Don't worry. Your brother is smart. He won't get killed easily." L says, wrapping both arms around her to bring her closer.
"I know that. But I still can't help it," Y/n said, placing her hands on his chest, listening to his heartbeat before the sound made her fall into a dreamless sleep.
"We'll find your brother. I promise you that," He whispers.
"A message from the second Kira to the real Kira. 'Kira, you are right. I will stop taking underhanded actions. Therefore, I will cancel the L and M's press conference. I'd like to judge criminals Kira has not yet judged and work to change the world. That is all'." The newscaster read off the letter in the morning.
"The fact that Kira didn't rise to the invitation is significant. Our plan this time was a failure," L says.
"It may not be my place to speak since I'm not a police officer, but isn't good we avoided the press conference?" Light asks.
"True enough," Y/n replied.
"We sent the original letter for analyzing. Though I'm confident that the second Kira didn't leave any evidence behind." Yagami says.
"Don't be so depressed," Light said when L sat on the chair in front of his laptop. "Youll catch him, Ryuga and Akiko. It's probably better to be cautious for now, but if you do get a chance to go out again, you should come to college with me, we'll play tennis together,"
"The Ichigo Berry concert sounds fun," Y/n said, looking up at Light with sad and innocent eyes.
"What, are you interested?" Light asks as he took out two tickets.
"Take these," He says, placing them on the table.
"Tomorrow?" L asks.
"Still can't? If you don't want them, throw them out," Light says.
"Dad, I'm going home. Don't work yourself too hard, okay?" Light says, leaving.
"The investigation is back to square one, I guess," Mogi says.
"Should we go?" Y/n asked her soulmate.
"What do you want?" He asks.
"I don't know...I've never been to a concert," She says.
"Then concert it is," He answers as Yagami's phone rang.
"This is Yagami...really? Thanks for the help." Yagami says, hanging up.
"Is it about the stalker who assaulted Misa and died shortly after?" Y/n asked instantly.
"He may have died of a heart attack," Yagami said.
"So there may be a connection after all," L says.
"What do you mean?" Yagami asks.
"Watari. Prepare us a change of clothes," L told Watari.
