Anna had come back to camp around midnight, and went to sleep almost immediately. Elaine slept in the garage with Jess, she couldn't bring herself to face Anna...at least not yet.

"I heard what happened" Jess whispered.
"We're we that loud?" Elaine asked looking over to her friend, who laid across from her on another cot.
"Yup..." Jess said as she looked up at the ceiling, "you know i don't think Anna meant to say what she said about Lucas dying because of you" Jess reasoned with a point "I think she's just upset, it sounded like she never got to really express the loss for him"
"I know, and especially with her brother passing recently. I feel so selfish now" Elaine buried her head in her hands as she looked up at the metal ceiling.
"Hey, we all have our grieving moments. Sometimes it blinds us from the others feelings. But we're only human, we learn from our mistakes" Jess said.
"When did you become so wise?" Elaine asked sarcastically.
"...I actually don't know" Jess said and started to laugh and Elaine joined in. She wasn't the type of person to be wise, or give advise. Well good advice at least. So this seemed very hilarious to Jess and Elaine.

After Jess had fallen sound asleep, Elaine laid there on the cot, and thought about what Jess had said earlier. Because of all this thinking Elaine couldn't sleep. She tossed and turned, flipped her pillow, and even tried to count sheep.

Finally after about an hour of this, Elaine got out of her cot, and jogged to the beach, where she saw Anna sitting silently, watching as the waves come and go.

Elaine took this as a shot to talk to her. So she sat down, and brought her knees up to her chest.

"I'm sorry, Elaine" Anna said turning toward her, with teary eyes.
Elaine felt a wave of pity, and brought Anna into a hug, "it's not your fault Anna, I should've been more aware of your feelings towards Lucas's death" Elaine said "I'm sorry, from the bottom of my heart, I'm so sorry" Elaine said

And Anna cried until there was no more tears left to spill. She cried with Elaine. And they both properly apologized, and once again became besties. Not that they ever stopped...because well you can't stop being besties with someone because of there sensitivity, a best friend sticks by your side till the very end. And for Elaine that's Anna.

Soon Newt had gotten the sail boat working again, and Elaine, Anna, and Jess all packed the proper gear for the two day journey on the water to the Safehaven.

Jess's wound had begun healing well, and she was able to properly walk. But was forbidden to lift anything heavy.

"Anna we don't need a frying pan" Elaine delacred as Anna went through a crate of random belongings.
"But what if there's pirates, then what'll we do?" Anna asked gesturing to Elaine with the pan.
"We have weapons" Elaine reasoned "now put it back" Elaine said, then left.

Anna sarcastically rolled her eyes, and was about to put the pan away before she got the idea to hide it in a random crate they were bringing . Then she walked out of the small storage room acting like she hadn't just gone against Elaine's wishes.

Elaine and Newt stood in front of the boat, packing things evenly on the sides.

"Hey, I think we have everything" Elaine declares dusting the sand dirt off of her small hands.
Anna came and stood next to Elaine and hung a arm across her shoulder.
"Just one step away from being safe" she said.
"One step" Elaine repeated Anna's two words.

Soon they left, and now they were at least 6 miles off of the coast, heading straight for the safeheaven.

---

It was almost sunset and Anna was dangling her feet on the side of the boat, while everyone else went about there afternoon.

"Hey..." the sound of Jess's voice snapped Anna's head in her direction.
"Hi" Anna smiled.
"Beautiful isn't?" Jess asked.
"Yeah, it's been a while since I watched the sunset into the ocean" Anna said looking at the blazing sun.
"Let me guess, WICKED?" Jess asked.
"Yup, speaking of which, what did they want?" Anna inquired.
"Information about you guys" Jess explained "they asked me a whole bunch of random questions, but I never told them about you guys, I owed, and I guess I owe her again for saving my life" Jess chuckled at the end.
"What do you mean by owed her?" Anna asked baffled.
"I think it was, two maybe three months after Elaine had escaped WICKED. They were chasing her down for at least 3 weeks, they eventually stopped, but during all of that she was running around from place to place, hiding, bargaining with people to find a place to rest. But one day, she was stuck in an alley way, and they were right on her tail. I spotted her out of the corner of my eye, and I knew who she was, she was all over the billboards of wanted posters. But she seemed so young, and well like many people I'm anti-WICKED. So I helped her escape, by distracting the soldiers, and giving her a place to stay for a bit. We became pretty great friends after that. But not as great as you and her. You guys are like sisters" Jess finished the story with a smile.
"Yeah, we are pretty much like sisters" Anna agreed.

"Anna! Come here" Elaine called over Anna to the other side of the boat.
"Later, Jess" Anna said before getting up and walking over to Elaine.
"Help me unpack some of this stuff?" Elaine asked passing Anna a box.
"Sure" Anna said gladly taking the box.

"So..." Anna urged
"So what?" Elaine laughed
"Are you and Newt going to have your first date once we get to the safehaven?" Anna asked
"I don't know, I-I guess" Elaine blushed
"You guys are dating, and you still blush when we talk about him. That's like the cutest thing ever!" Anna said.

Elaine shook her head while laughing "what would I do without you?"
"Probably something stupid" Anna retorted sarcastically.

The girls laughed a bit before going back to unpacking some of the items they brought along with them. After about an hour, they made some progress.

Elaine was just about to finish with the last crate, when she felt a hard object buried among the straw that kept the items safe. After Elaine picked up the heavy object, she looked at Anna with a face that said "really".
"Pirates" Anna simply said.
"What's a frying pan going to do to a pirate?" Elaine asked

Anna took it from her hands, and held it in front of her, "you swing it at there face" Anna said pretending to hit someone with it "it useful because they won't expect it" Anna said reasonably.

"Whatever" Elaine chuckled

Anna kept fooling around, and working on her pan fighting skills. Even though Elaine was having a laughing fit about it, but soon Anna joined in, but stopped when Newt came below deck.
"What's going in down here?" He asked
"Nothing just..." Anna picked up the pan and set it on one of the counters "unpacking" Elaine chuckled.
"Mmhm" Newt nodded his head, and quickly climbed back up the stairs.

"Suspicious much?" Anna mumbled.

---

After they had all eaten, everyone went to sleep. Elaine and Newt slept on deck in a couple of handmade hammocks, while Jess slept on the small couch, and Anna took the small twin bed in the bedroom.

Before they had gone to bed though Newt put the anchor in the water, and double checked to make sure it was secure. Only they were all unaware of the strong current that was about to hit them, and send them off coarse.
