Parker's POV
Mid-Sophomore Year...I silently walked through the halls by myself since Wilson had a doctor's appointment and Noah stayed home because he got a cold, and I ignored those that complained and threatened me after I'd bumped into them to get to class.
It was a preventable accident, sure, but an accident it was. Plus, their threats were nothing. I mean, I wasn't the tallest or most muscular, but I knew how to fight and I had Damien's gang on standby since he'd ordered them to protect me and do whatever I told them.
With a short sigh, I turned down a corner and walked into class. Rather, I was just about to but Kyle had called my name.
I slowly turned towards the eighteen-year-old and sighed when he fidgeted his hands and smiled up at me. "Hi, Parker~," he started, giggling. "Notice anything different about me...? Hmm~?"
"You're even more annoying than the last time Wilson wasn't with me," I answered. "No, it's my eyes," he giggled. I frowned at him and squinted as I peered into his gaze, and I shoved the eighteen-year-old into a wall of lockers when I saw that he'd gotten brown contacts to look more like Gyorgy. "Don't you like them?!" He scoffed.
"I like Gyorgy. Not some fake, obsessive wannabe," I responded calmly, walking into my class. Almost all of my classmates stared at me as I took my seat and my teacher frowned as she walked into the halls and checked on Kyle. "Parker," she sighed upon coming back into the class. "Maybe we should talk about what just happened?"
I ignored her and stared at my screensaver.
"After class then," Mrs. Nalder huffed.
"He didn't do anything wrong," some guy beside me defended. "The guy he pushed was annoying and harassing him so he did what anyone else would do: pushed him away. There's no need to talk to him after class."
I slowly turned my attention off of Gyorgy's picture, and looked over to the guy beside me to see who it was. An Asian boy with glasses, jet black hair, sharp jaws, a mean facial expression, and a height that seemed at least two inches taller than mine—but we were sitting so it was hard to tell.
"Why are you speaking for me," I asked him quietly. He clenched his jaws as he looked at me. "Because I need to talk to you," he replied.
"Why?" I wondered.
"We'll talk after class," the Asian boy said simply.
I liked his secretive demeanor so I shrugged and agreed to speak with him after class.
Luckily, Mrs. Nalder had some knowledge of what she was teaching, so everyone understood the assignments she gave out and didn't bother me by trying to cheat off my work. Unfortunately, I zoomed through my work and had nothing to do, so I stared at my phone's lock screen, admiring the picture of my crush.
Bzz-bzz!
I sat up and leaned over my desk when I saw that he had texted me: "call me when you can," and I stood and rushed out of my class as I dialed my crush's number, headed towards the restrooms.
