Gabe's POV

He pushed my hand... Is he pushing me away already? But does he know about my feelings? No...no, Gyorgy couldn't have said anything... It's just not something that he'd do. He's too soft to ruin my and Park's friendship... But...he seems so upset...

I watched my best friend as he stepped over to the stairs, diligently studying his body language.

"Gabe," Casey started. "What's going on? Why does Parker seem so angry? Did you guys argue recently?"

"He's not angry," I said upon noticing that he'd been slouching. "He's sad."

Usually Parker stood tall, whether he was happy or frustrated. He'd always walked with a straight posture and emanated dominance, confidence, and nightmarish vibes. But whenever he was sad, he slouched and dragged himself everywhere, exuding bloodlust, unpredictability, and sorrow—like a depressed serial murderer.

His terrifying character was one of his most attractive qualities, no doubt. Except for the times when sadness was feeding his creepy aura. Then, his normally attractive animosity really became scary. He'd purposely try others' patience so that they would challenge him, and he'd even pick fights with multiple people at once. The worst thing about his saddened anger, though, was his self isolation. There was no telling what he was doing, planning, or thinking. Granted you could never tell with Parker, it was far worse when he was dejected.

"Do you know what he's sad about," the redhead questioned.

"Could only be Gyorgy," I mumbled as Daughn gripped Parker's hand and dragged him back into the living room. "Park..."

My best friend hadn't looked up at me, or even hummed to acknowledge my calling of his name.

"Do you want us to g—"

The eight-year-old quickly handed me the remote control to the television, and patted the couch. "We're all gonna watch a movie. Oh! Where's Georgia? Is he in the bathroom?" Bean asked, turning to look at Parker.

"Gyorgy," my best friend corrected as he lifted his little brother into his lap. "He's gone."

"What?" Casey asked, glancing out of a window. "Where'd he go?"

"Did he go to the store for snacks," Bean questioned. "Tell him to bring watermelon. No! I mean, strawberries!"

"No, Bean, he's not at the store. I told Gyorgy that I don't like him anymore. He went home," Parker said, making all of us frown deeply confused expressions.

"What do you mean you don't like him anymore? You've been in love with him since you were eight years old, Park," I mentioned.

"People fall out of love, Gabe," he replied, sounding like he was going to breakdown at any moment.

"You don't. You've been pursuing this guy since you've met him! And I'll bet you haven't even really lost any interest in Gyorgy. You just got so frustrated with him that you said something stupid without thinking, and now that's he's gone, you regret it. Don't you?"
