42. Expect The Unexpected

Gyorgy's POV

"How long have you been crushing on Parker?"

Gabe's eyes immediately grew fiery and his bouncing knee froze, causing Daughn to turn around and whine the teenager's name.

"Bean, can you show Casey around the den?" He muttered.

"But I want to keep bouncing~," the little boy complained.

"I'll bounce you until my leg goes numb if you show him around. As soon as you get back, I'll get to it," he said persuasively. The boy narrowed his eyes at Gabe for a moment before giggling "Deal!" and then lugging Casey over to the den.

"Don't say a word to Parker. If he finds out that I have any romantic feelings for him he could push me away or avoid me because he might think that I want to get between you guys—"

"Wait, what? You don't want to...get rid of me?"

"Have you felt any anger, jealousy, contempt or resentment from me?"

"W... No..."

"Why would I want to get rid of the guy that my best friend is in love with? What kind of jerk do you think I am?"

"I dunno. I just thought that you wanted Parker and Casey to yourself and nothing to do with me," I said with a shrug.

"Well, yeah. That's exactly the case. I do only want Parker and Casey to myself and nothing to do with you..."

"Oh."

"But that's impossible. The only way for me to get with Parker is if he's with you. If you tell him that I like him and he pushes me away then there's no chance for me to be with him erotically or platonically. So, don't say anything about my feelings for him and forget we even had this conversation. Yeah?"

"First, tell me...how long have you been hiding your feelings for him?"

"Forever," Gabe answered shortly before getting up and walking over to the den.

Forever...? I frowned as I tried to figure out what the teenager meant, but quickly gave up my hard thinking and decided to ask him for a clear answer. "Wait, what does that—"

"Hey!" Damien's deep voice suddenly boomed from the stairway, making me jump. My eyes immediately darted onto the teenager behind him, and my worries faded a smidge when I saw him walking towards me with a soft smile.

"Are you okay? Do you want me to get you anything?" I inquired while he grabbed my hands. "I'm okay," Parker chuckled before kissing my lips. "Where's Daughn?"

"He, Gabe and Casey are in the den," I answered, looking at my feet to avoid any teasing for my reddening face. "U-um..."

I really want to ask him about his feelings on Gabe...

Parker tilted his head a bit and his eyes seemed to stare deeper into my own.

But I know that if I bring him up, Parker could put two and two together and figure out that his friend likes him...
