All in the day's work

Are you okay?". I quickly wiped all the tears from my face and looked up, "Yeah I'm fine. I'm just taking a walk. If you're looking for Sam, I haven't seen her today." He looked puzzled for a second before answering, "No I'm not looking for Sam. I was actually just going on a run and then I saw you walking alone and thought maybe you needed company". "Oh" was all I could say. He lifted my chin so I was looking directly into his hazel eyes, "So are you okay?". I looked away before I started crying again, "it's just that I had a fight with my boyfriend and I just wanted to take a walk to clear my head". He looked shocked for a moment before covering it up and asking, "You have a boyfriend?". I just nodded. "Does he go here?", I shook my head. I think he took the hint that I wasn't in the mood to talk about it. After a few minutes of walking in silence, he turned to me. "Do you wanna get ice-cream?". "At this time of the night?", It was almost 10 o'clock and I don't want to be rude but I catch a cold easily. "Is there ever not a time for ice-cream?", He smiled looking down at me. I just smiled back and he grabbed my hand, taking that as a yes and pulled me into an ice-cream parlor that I never realized was there.

"You don't like chocolate ice-cream?" "Who likes chocolate ice-cream?" "I do! How dare you not?" We were sitting at the farthest end of the parlor arguing about ice-cream flavours and my mood was finally getting better. Blake kept smiling at me amusingly, "I can't believe you don't like chocolate. Oh God! I feel like I don't know you!" I burst out in laughter, "but do you know me?". He stared at me for a minute before looking down at his ice-cream and answering, "I'm trying to". He was interested in knowing me? But wait, Mabel! I shook the thought from my head, Blake must've noticed me. "Are you alright? Did I say something wrong?" I just shook my head, "I want to go back to my room now". I stood up and he followed suit. At the front of my dorm, I turned to go then he swiftly grabbed my phone from my back pocket and typed something in it before giving it back to me. "You might want to stop putting your phone at the back", he smirked and walked away. I stood there watching his back before looking down at my phone to see that he saved his number and sent a message to himself. I laughed at what he saved himself as.

That Hot Dude

Morning came quicker than I thought and I still couldn't get last night out of my head as I walked into the school block. I felt two heavy bodies jump on me from the back. What the hell? I turned around ready to give someone a piece of my damaged mind to see Jace and Jeff smiling widely at me and I couldn't help but smile. They're just too cute. "Rue! We have been looking everywhere for you." "Yeah, you girls just ditched us at lunch yesterday and then we saw you at ice-cream parlor snuggling up to Blake which". I quickly covered Jace's mouth before anyone could hear him. "What are you talking about? We were sitting across each other!", I answered him sharply. Jeff wiggled his eyebrows, "but you looked like you wanted to". I just sighed and started walking away before they ran up to me and put their arms around my shoulder on each side, still laughing. We walked down the hall together till Jeff left for his first class. Jace and I both have Sociology so we went in together. When we were seated, Jace turned to me looking worried. I knew he wanted to say something but he had been holding back. "What's the matter Jace? You know you can talk to me". "I know, it's just... I've been meaning to ask about Jess. I haven't heard from her since the party so I just wanted to know if she was okay", he looked away. Is he blushing? Omg did I miss something?"Yeah she's fine. She's actually coming to lunch with us". His expression quickly turned to happiness as he hugged me saying thanks and facing the teacher smiling widely. Yep! I definitely missed something.

It was finally lunchtime and Sam literally came to each of our classes and dragged us all out. Yes! Including Sky! Then she made us hold hands as we walked towards our table, saying something about full gang meeting and no one ditching. She was so excited that it was annoying everyone. Jeff groaned loudly, "Sam how are you so excited?!". She just smiled widely, "It's all in the day's work". Jace sat beside Jess and asked her how she was, I noticed her blushing before mumbling that she was fine. I'm definitely going to ask her about this later. Jeff and Sky sat across Sam and I and they were all talking about some guy that has gotten suspended for the sixth time in 2 weeks. I noticed my phone buzzing and picked it up to see Noah's name blaring through my screen. I dropped it back, not in the mood to talk to him. He kept calling back and I kept declining then he sent a text.

Noah: Rue, I'm sorry! Please let's talk.

I just groaned and dropped the phone to look and see everyone staring at me. "What?" Sam held my shoulder, "Is something wrong with you and Noah?" I didn't tell anyone cause I didn't feel like talking about it but now I had no way out. I told them everything that happened last night excluding the part about Blake. When I was done, everyone was looking at me sympathetically. Well except Sky who just looked down at his food before mumbling "He's a dick". Everyone looked at him in shock before Jeff started laughing and everyone recovered, continuing their conversations. My phone buzzed then Sam groaned, "oh for the love of God!". She picked up my phone probably to tell him off before stopping midway. Everyone turned to look at her, she looked at me straight in the eyes then smirked "Rue, why is my brother saved as the hot dude on your phone?". Everyone burst into laughter as I quickly grabbed the phone and stared at my screen.

The Hot Dude: Rue, it's Blake.
