"I'm never agreeing on an outing with Sam again", Jess yawned as we settled in bed. I smiled at her tired state, "I'm not so sure about that though cause she always finds a way to drag us with her". Jess nodded solemnly, "You're right" then she turned to the other side and turned off her lamp. "Goodnight Rue" "Night Jess". I turned on my phone to check my messages. Skylar still hadn't responded to them. What's going on with him? I'll find out tomorrow. I closed my eyes and went into Dreamworld.

"Ouuuuu Jace! You got that tan going on for you", Sam squealed as she rubs Jace's face. Then she smiled proudly, "You see, my idea was good". "We got kicked out of the beach Sam", Jeff pointed out flatly. "That just shows how badass we are", she smiled proudly as everyone shook their heads. Skylar was still no where to be found. "Has anyone seen Skylar?", I asked the table. "He was in Maths class this morning but I don't know where he is right now", Jess said. I think I have a good idea. I stood up and grabbed my bag. I pecked Blake on his cheek as I muttered, "I'll be back".

I opened the door of the abandoned classroom and there was Skylar, playing his guitar. I walked up to him quietly as he played but he stopped when he noticed me. He put the guitar down and stood, "Hey Rue". "Why have you been avoiding me?", I asked when I stopped right infront of him. "I'm not!", He defended. "Then explain the unanswered messages and missed calls and oh yeah you didn't show up for art class", I retorted, folding my arms. He sighed and lowered his head, "Fine. I have been but it's not just you. I've just been going through some stuff lately". I visibly softened, "Is it about Ryan?". He nodded sadly then I hugged him, "You don't have to avoid anyone because you're not feeling okay". "I just don't want to be the one to bring the negative vibe", he mufflled. Then I pulled back and rose his lowered face, "Hey, we're your friends. There's no such thing as bringing the negative vibe okay? Promise you'll never avoid me again". He smiled slightly, "I won't". "Want to talk it over?", I asked looking up at him. "Yeah sure".

According to Skylar, Ryan had started showing up less. Some nights he wouldn't come home, some nights he would come home beaten up. It was happening frequently now and Skylar didn't know what to do. I tried bringing up ideas but he told me not to bother about it that he'll figure something out. I just wish there was a way to brighten him up, just then my phone buzzed.

We The Badass

AkaClown: Movie night, anyone?

Sammm: Hell yeahh

Roomie!: Seriously? We legit just went out

Ty: @Akaclown who allowed you to come up with a movie night in our apartment without informing Blake and I. @TheHotDude come see this guy.

J: I'm up for it. @Roomie don't be a buzz kill love.

The Hot Dude: Oh come on, don't y'all get tired?

Yes, I didn't change his name. Sue me! I decided this would be the perfect idea to brighten Skylar's mood. A movie night where he wouldn't have to think about anything but enjoy himself with us.

Me: I'm up for a movie night! Skylar said he's up too.

AkaClown: Yasss. That's why you're my favourite person in the world. @Me

Sammm: I'm picking the movie!

J: In your dreams @Sammm

I laughed as I turned off my phone and put it back in my pocket.

"Rue, aren't you coming?", Jess asked curiously. "Yeah but I have to pick up Skylar first. I'll meet you guys there", I smiled. "Okayy. We'll pick the movie without you!", Sam yelled as they walked out. I rolled my eyes and got ready.

I knocked on his door the third time and it opened to reveal a very not ready Skylar. "What are you doing? Why aren't you dressed?", I asked in shock. He looked confused at my statement, "For what?". "The movie night! Didn't you read the GC?", I asked with my brows up. "Oh. I haven't checked any GCS since morning, I didn't know", he yawned as he stretched and opened the door wider for me to come in. "I'll go get dressed", he staggered as he climbed the staircase. I nodded and sat on the couch. Later, I stood up and started to wander around. I went in the kitchen and on the fridge I saw tiny square-like pictures. I went closer and examined the pictures. There was one of a girl and Skylar, another one of Skylar and Ryan with a man, woman and the girl. Skylar never told me he had a sister and his mum died when he was 5 so this must be his adopted family. They looked really happy together, I wonder what happened.

"That's David, Joyce and their daughter, Bethany. They had to move out when things got tough", I heard Skylar say. I looked back at the picture of Skylar and Bethany, "You and Bethany were close?", I asked as I turned to face him. He nodded before turning away, "Let's go". I glanced back at the picture before following him.

"Do you guys still talk?", I asked as we strolled down the road. "NoPe. Her number stopped going a few months after they moved so I figured she changed it. I asked Jess but she didn't know either", he shrugged as he kicked a stone. "Wait, Jess knows her too?", I asked with wide eyes. "Yeah. Childhood friends. She and her parents visited once before David decided to move.  After Bethany and her parents left, I switched schools. Then I met Jess again and apparently she recognised me and that was how I started hanging out with her and the others", he said. I took some time to digest the information, "It's such a little world right?". "Yeah", he nodded.

"So do you like try to find anything about her maybe Instagram or something", I asked. "Yeah but Ryan said it's unhealthy to keep hanging on to her. He said I needed to move on so I did", he said. So he had feelings for her. It must've been so hard for him.

I hugged slightly as we kept walking, "Cheer up Skylar!"
