"What are you guys doing here?", I said with my eyes wide open.

"Your principal called me that you got into a fight and that I should come and have a word with you", she looked at me disapprovingly. I stared at my feet while Jordan just folded his hands and watched. My mum gave me a ted talk for like an hour before she got tired and told Jordan to meet her in the car.

"What happened?", Jordan eyed me warily. Jordan and I have always had this connection since my dad died. No matter how much we insult each other, we could die for each other and that's why I know that if I tell him everything Mabel said, he would be very very upset. "Nothing actually. One girl was just getting on my nerves", I shrugged. He looked at me like he didn't believe anything I said but he wasn't pushing. He ruffled my hair, "Tell me when you're ready". I smiled then we walked out.

As we headed to the parking lot, we spotted the group heading our way. "Rue! Oh thank God. We thought something happened to you. What happened in the principal's office?", Sam asked out of breath from running. I shrugged, "He called my mum cause of the fight with Mabel". "That bitch. Always causing...". I cleared my throat and bent my head towards Jordan letting her know he was here. She realised and smiled up at him, "Hey! I'm Sam. You must be the pain in the ass brother". Jordan laughed before shaking her hand, "Rue Rue, can't go a week without talking about me. I love you too". I glared at him before the rest of the group came up and greeted Jordan. For a 15 year old, Jordan was tall for his age so he kind of matched with the guys. We all walked towards the parking lot to see him and my mum off. After my mum hugged everyone, she gave me a tight hug before whispering, "Be safe". Then they got in and drive off, Jordan putting his hand out the window waving at us till my mum smacked him and he sat down properly. Yep, that's my family.

Today was super boring. We haven't seen or heard from Jace and Blake since yesterday because the football game with our rival school is coming really close so the coach is really pushing them. Although, Blake is the best in the entire school, Jace is the best in our set so they're both being pressured alot right now. I'm supposed to meet Sky today so we can discuss about our assignment. I'm sitting in the cafe, drinking a latte and staring out the window. Sky finally walked in, "Sorry I'm late". "It's fine. I just got here". That's a lie, I've been here for 20 minutes. "Okay let's get into it".

"How can you prefer pizza to shawarma?", I shrieked. "Pizza is much more cheesier", he retorted. "But shawarma is much more healthier, Skylar!". He started laughing and then I joined. After like 2 minutes, I cleared my throat. "But seriously, we've been on this for hours and we still can't figure out what we have in common. This is annoying". He smiled and ruffled my hair, "Give it time. We'll figure it out". This is the first time I'm seeing Skylar so relaxed with no guard and I can't help but smile. "What are you smiling about?", He asked with amusement on his face. "Nothing. I've just never seen you so laid-back before". He shrugged, "Yeah well some guards are necessary. It's not good to let a lot of people in".

Just then, his phone rang and when he saw the name, his face went white. He picked the call and before he could speak, I heard loud yellings. I couldn't make out what he was saying but I could tell it wasn't nice. "Chill out Ryan. I was doing an assignment", he said getting up and packing his bags. "Yeah I'll be there soon", he cut the call and turned to me. "That was my brother. I have to go. Sorry Rue". I nodded as he walked away. Ryan must be the guy with the motorcycle, I thought.

I walked into the room to see Jace on Jess's bed as she dabbed his head. "Are you okay?", I asked in concern. Jace couldn't even talk because he was so famished. Jess looked at me in worry, "The coach is really stressing him out, Rue. They didn't allow them eat throughout today!". I covered my mouth in shock, "That's insane!". I watched in worry as Jess tried to get Jace to eat but he was so tired to. I hugged him for like 5 minutes. He finally opened his mouth, "Rue, I think you should go check on Blake. The coach worked him out more than me". I gasped. Oh my God. Jess gestured for me to go. I quickly picked my bag and ran to Blake's apartment.
