Just Us

He sat up quickly from my bed, dusting his jeans, "Rue, hey. I know you might still be angry with me but I just thought I'd come and...". I ran up to him and hugged him so tight. I didn't even care about what happened as long as he was here right now. He ran his hands through my hair, mumbling how much he missed me and how sorry he was for not trusting me. I let go of him and smiled, "I don't care, I'm just really happy you're here". He pulled me in for a hug before kissing me gently. I forgot how that felt. We finally pulled away from each other and I turned around realising that the door was shut and Jess and Sam were nowhere to be found. They knew all along! I can't believe them. I turned back to see Noah eyeing me from up to down.

"What?", I asked amusingly. "Do you know since when I've been looking for that hoodie?! So you had it all along?". He shot his hands up in frustration, "I let you have any of my hoodies and you take this one? My favourite one?". I chuckled before I climbed on the bed straddling him. "Your favourite hoodie for your favourite person right?". He pulled me closer till our bodies were practically moulded. "Who said you're my favourite person?", He smirked resting his head on my chest. I rose his chin up and kissed him before pulling back and looking into his eyes, "I'm gonna act like I didn't hear that".

Just then the door opened, Jess ran in grabbed her purse before running back out, "I didn't see anything! Just act like I'm not here!". She nearly tripped on one of Liza's sneakers. "Damn you stupid sneakers", she cussed before slamming the door. We looked at each other in amusement before bursting into laughter.

Noah dragged me into the mall with my hands tightly wrapped in his. "What are we doing here?", I looked up at him expectantly. He smiled widely before pulling out a paper from his back pocket and giving it to me. I opened it and I saw it was the list of stuff I wanted to do with my boyfriend when I got one. Bri and I both wrote in first grade and I don't know how he got it. "How did you find this? I know I lost it a while back". He wrapped his hand around mine again still smiling brightly, "I may or may not have gone to your house to snoop around your room". I burst into laughter and hit his shoulder lightly. He's so cute sometimes. "let's go make some memories!", He pulled me and started running. I couldn't help but laugh.

"Rue, you're supposed to push me". "I know! That's what I'm doing!" Noah is sitting in the shopping cart and I'm supposed to push him round the mall but we haven't moved an inch because Noah is so goddamn heavy. I don't know why I thought I would be able to push my boyfriend in the shopping cart. Did I think he was going to be scrawny or did I think I would've finally started working out and keeping fit because none of those came true. "Any day now, Rue", Noah said, with a really bored expression on his face. "Shut up!".

Noah ended up pushing me instead and let's just say some shoppers didn't like our idea of fun. After that, we shared a massive ice-cream bucket, slid down a children slide, snuck into a pet house and broke out the puppies, started a food fight in a restaurant and now, Noah's taking me to some place I don't know. "Did you see that guy's expression when the pasta rolled down his face?", I said in between laughs. Noah was laughing continuously while clutching his stomach, "Oh oh did you see the lady that slipped?". We both laughed loudly, clutching our stomachs as people were staring at us strangely. After 20 minutes, we finally calmed down and we were able to speak again.

"So where to now?", I looked at him from the passenger side as he maneuvered the car on the road. "I've told you countless times Rue, it's a surprise!" "But you know I hate surprises", I whined. He just smiled and kept driving. We stopped in front of a beach. He wants us to swim? At the beach? Oh God. We got down from the car and he immediately started pulling me towards the beach. We came to a halt and what I saw brought tears to my eyes.

There were two picnic baskets, candles and a bag. Inside the bag, there were different sets of clothes for if we wanted to change and a bathing suit. The baskets were full of pizza, fruits, wine glasses, a bottle of wine and of course, Maltesers! "How did you set this up?!", I asked in shock. He just smiled at me before gesturing at the mat, "Take a wild guess". Then it clicked.

I turned to face her as she smiled widely at me, "So Rue what's the one thing you want to do before this year ends?". I looked at her suddenly before answering, "Sam we're still in June, what's the rush?". She frowned before poking me continuously, "Just answer!". I laughed loudly before smiling at her curious eyes, "Okay fine. Well I'd like to see the sunset and sunrise in a beach or something". She got up and started dusting her clothes when I decided to tease her, "Why are you asking? You want to take me?". "Ew Rue, I'm not your boyfriend!".

It was Sam! That explains the condom in the bag. That girl is so in for it. I snapped back to reality as I see Noah taking off his shirt. Ouuuuu I can't get tired of that. "Come on Rue, are you just going to keep standing there?", He ran into the water. Definitely not. I quickly took off my top and jeans and put on my bathing suit. I ran into the water to join Noah who quickly picked me up swirling me around. I laughed loudly, yelling at him to put me down. We played in the water for some time before going back to the mat. I put on fresh clothes while Noah arranged the pizza and our glasses of wine. We sat and spoke about random stuff, eating pizza and sipping wine.

"Rue?" "Yeah?" I looked up from my empty maltesers wrapper into Noah's eyes. He cleared his throat before speaking up, "I just wanted to say that I'm really sorry for what not trusting you. I was just really scared that you're far away from me and you're surrounded with all these guys and I'm just afraid that I might never be able to satisfy you because of our distance". I felt my eyes tear up as I got on top of him, straddling him. "Noah, I'm dating you. I don't care about all of these guys. As long as we're together, I'd never do anything to hurt you. Don't worry about that", I pecked him on his lips and as I rose my head up, he pulled me back into a deep kiss. "Just Us", he mumbled in between the kissing. I pulled back and smiled, "Just Us". We sat there staring at the sunset and drinking more wine. I stole a glance at Noah while he was trying to dust sand out of his hair and I smiled. As long as I have Noah, I don't need anyone else.

"Rue, wake up! Come on!" God? Is that You? "Rue! Don't make me do this" Wait! Is that Noah? Before I could open my eyes, I felt cold water splash all over my body. I shot up straight from the mat. "What the hell?!", I looked up to see Noah smiling sheepishly at me. "In my defense, I tried waking you up a thousand times. I didn't want you to miss the sunrise". Awww he's so sweet! But that doesn't mean I'm going to forgive him that easily. "Oh really?", I put on my most devious smile. Noah took a tentative step back, "Rue? I don't like that look on your face". I walked slowly towards him and he kept walking backwards. I picked up a handful of sand before I started running after him. "Eat this sucker!".
