Redemption

Wednesday, 30th of August.

"So he is gone again."

"Yes, but this time I know that he will come back to me."

"How are you so sure of it?"

"He confessed his feelings for me."

"Hold up, he did?"

"Yes and I said a lot to him last night. I think he needs to process it."

"That's why he left."

Sakura nodded. Yes, Sasuke needed to be alone but this time it was to process what he was going to do about their situation and she knew it. It wasn't a simple journey, it was a journey that was going to decide the faith of their relationship.

"And how are you feeling?"

"Sakura-saaaan, it fo' you!"

Sakura took the drawing off the hands of the little boy. It showed her with him holding hands. 

"This is so pretty, thank you so much. Give me a hug!"

After hugging her, he ran off to play with the other children. She replied to Ino.

"I'm fine. Honestly I've never felt this good. It feels like a weight lifted off my shoulders. It... I don't know. I just feel calm."

"You would be a great mom."

"What?"

"I can see how you interact with the children... I also see how much they love you. You would be a great mom and I just hope that this situation with Sasuke won't stop you from being one."

"Like you said, I'm only twenty. I know I'll regret it if I don't give Sasuke a chance, especially now that he is aware of his feelings and that he knows mine. He left to think about it and when he comes back, things will be clearer. I'm not fooling myself, I know that I won't get married to him out of nowhere. I would be even surprised if we kiss when he comes back. But you know what? It doesn't really matter to me."

"Yeah I can't picture you two kiss," she laughed. "but never say never. Maybe this journey to redemption will make him think about it all and he'll make a move."

"Maybe... It is a journey to redemption, isn't it? I just don't want to expect anything you know? I don't want to pressure him too much. If he needs two years to open up then I will give him two years. I have my entire life ahead of me and if it takes this long then I am willing to wait."

"Where do you think he is now?"

"Who knows? Sasuke is Sasuke..."

"He will always be this way."

"But that's what everyone likes about him."

Sasuke looked at the waves rolling under his eyes. The sea and the forest were probably the two places where he felt the most comfortable at. The water moving and the sound of the birds kept his mind calm and quiet.

As soon as he had left Sunagakure this morning, he thought about his next destination. He thought about going back on his mission but he realised that without being able to control his chakra, it would be too dangerous to go off on his own somewhere. He was also feeling so overwhelmed that he wanted to see the sea. Thankfully Sunagakure wasn't too far from the Sand Peninsula and it only took him two hours to get there.
