What was a part of him

Friday, 22nd of September.

He walked her through the streets until he found a little bridge. He walked on top of it with her. The place was beautiful. The village had put some ballons on the lake and they were surrounded by the ducks and the flowers. Everything was so alive and colourful.

Sasuke did not care much about all of this, all he wanted was to ask his question without being interrupted because right now, he had the courage to do it and he didn't know if tomorrow was going to be the same.

He took a deep breath and his trembling hand fixed his girl's flower crown.

He decided to just say what came into his mind. He didn't have anything prepared anymore but he realised that it was probably better this way. He took a deep breath and asked her.

"Sakura..."

"What did you want to ask me?"

"I don't know if this is the right time or the right place but listen... I don't have anything to offer to you but I want you to have something that is meaningful to me. It's what made me who I was, it makes me who I am today and will always be a part of me. I made my worst decisions because of it but it's also because it exists that I decided to be a better person. I want you to share it with me... I want you to be a part of it as well. Will you wear the Uchiha clan crest on the back of your clothes for the rest of your life?"

"I am not an Uchiha and I can't wear that crest unless I am married to you."

"Will you marry me then?"

He waited for an answer feeling anxious. She tilted her head to the right and the crown moved with it. She was beautiful right now.

"You want me to marry you? Seriously? You know what it implies? If we get married we will be linked together for the rest of our lives." she started speaking faster. "That means I will be Sakura Uchiha and not Sakura Haruno anymore. We... we will be leaving together. We..."

"I know and that's why I am asking you."

"You want to have all of that with me? You can have anyone you know. Don't feel pressured because you know my feelings for you. You can have anyone. Are you sure of yourself? Maybe you should spend more time alone to get to know other people. I don't want you to end up with me because there are no other options."

"Calm down." he poked her forehead with his fingers. "I have been thinking about it for a while. I am sure of it."

"You want to marry me?"

He laughed at her expression. Her smile was so big that he wondered in how much pain her cheeks were. If he thought that she was glowing earlier he was wrong. Right now she was and he understood that he had made the right decision. She asked the same question again and he nodded. "So, do you?"

A tear fell on her cheek and she jumped on him holding him tight within her two arms.

He wrapped his arm around her thin body. She was going to be his wife. "We will need to go to a shop to get the crest sewn on your top."

"You were serious about that too?!"

"You are my wife, of course you will need to wear it."

"But wait." She let go of him and just stared at him. "My parents. We can't get married without my parents saying yes."
