This chapter contains a guide on why and how to bully people. If you do not agree with bullying and are sure of this, you can skip to the end of the chapter where you will find a guide on how to react to bullying.
If you consider yourself to be a smart person, take the name of this guide as a hint. Bullying works best if you are either naturally not that smart or if you willingly chose to use less of your intellect. This is especially true if you are bullying within a group of people as you are going to want to establish yourself as a leader. Leaders do not use an abundance of smart words or long sentences. Humans are not drawn to people who know what they do, but to people who do it with confidence. Smart people usually have a tendency to doubt themselves every now and then and are therefore widely regarded as bad leaders.
Bullying is mainly about diminishing someone else's value. Value is something that is created in our own minds. Everything that holds value for you, only holds value because you believe it holds value. In order to diminish someone else's value, all you have to do is make them believe that they hold no value. For more information on how people usually assess their own value read chapter 2.
There is a widespread myth that blowing out someone else's candle would not make yours shine brighter. This of course, is horseshit as will be explained shortly.
Everything that can be physically touched is an object. Humans can be physically touched and are therefore objects. The value of an object is dependent on its demand but also on its scarcity. --> If you can discourage someone from posing a competition to you, you are in fact increasing your own value.
Even when someone is not threatening to you in any way, the nature of group dynamics will in many situations still ensure that you are going to benefit from bullying someone. Remember that humans are a lot like monkeys and are because of this drawn to hierarchies that are held in place by bullying. Not reinforcing these hierarchies would be unnatural and leave humans with a weird sense of insecurity. If you are reinforcing a sort of hierarchy through bullying, you will get positive affirmation from other humans for that reason. Remember, we are basically monkeys.
Bullying has been getting a lot of negative attention in the media despite all of these facts I just listed, so you might still have reservations to bullying. Do not believe that you would be putting the greater good before your own self-interest by maintaining an anti-bullying attitude. The truth is that most humans want to live in a society where a safe life is only established through bullying just like it is done by monkeys, mainly chimpanzees. There are some monkey species that are arguably morally superior to humans. The attainment of the moral high ground is impossible to lower species like humans, for more information read chapter 9.
Bullying can be done in several steps.
Firstly, you must choose your victim. Depending on your current situation this could be many different types of people. If possible, you want to bully someone who is already being bullied. If nobody around you is being bullied yet, go for the person who seems most insecure. A person's insecurity can be established by their posture, gesture, expressions and choice of clothes and words. Are they walking, standing and sitting with a bad posture, bent slightly forwards as if to hide from you? Are they gesturing to you or other people to go away? Are they looking sad, insecure or even panicking? Are their clothes cheap or ugly, perhaps because they are struggling to make ends meet and have heavy worries about money? Perfect.
If it hasn't already occurred to you, people who suffer from any type of disability commonly make good victims. If the disability is of a physical kind, you are going to want to bully them in a rather covert fashion to test the waters. However, if you suspect someone to be suffering from any type of mental disability, you can feel free to bully them as overtly as possible. Make yourself look like a social justice warrior as well. People with mental health issues are lazy and crazy, most people believe this.
