LUCY'S POV

" I can't believe their getting married!" I squealed, hugging Steve tightly.

He hugged me tighter and kissed my forehead.

" I know. It's amazing." He put his hands on my shoulders." Umm. Are you tired?" He asked suddenly.

I nodded slowly." Yes. I might as well get rest or I won't be able to wake up early tomorrow morning."

He grinned and took my hand." Then lets go."

He helped me limp towards the elevator, saying 'merry Christmas' and 'happy holidays' to anyone we passed.

Finally we were on our own floor, and we stumbled into the living room.

" oh Steve. We don't have a tree." I whined.

He patted me on the shoulder." I'm sure Tony's got a few spare ones."

I threw my shoe to the side and plopped myself on the couch.

" I am beat." I muttered , closing my eyes.

I didn't hear a reply but I thought nothing of it as i thought of tomorrow.

" Lucy." Steve called from across the room." What?" I groaned.

" come here. Lets look at the city lights." I found that somewhat suspicious but I kept it to myself, limping over to where he was.

" wow." I breathed, looking at the twinkling lights.

Steve's hand wrapped around mine, and he did one thing I never imagined to ever see.

In the reflection of the glass I saw him kneel down, his hand still in mine, and take out a small black velvet box.

I gasped, bringing my hand to my mouth in shock.

" Lucy. You are the most kind, loving, and beautiful woman I have ever met. We had our differences and still do, but despite that, I still want to spend the rest of my days with you. So....will you marry me?"

He said it quiet clearly despite the fact of how he was shaking on end without stopping.

Sweat was pouring down his face as his eyes desperately looked into mine.

I kneeled down beside him and smiled lightly, putting my hand on his knee.

" I would be honored to become your wife." I whispered, kissing his lips.

I felt him melt against my lips in relief, while slipping the ring onto my finger as we kissed.

" now. Shall we put up that tree?"

_______________________________________

A half hour later we had put up the gigantic fake tree in our living room.

I stood back and sighed in relief.

" now. The fun part." I smirked to Steve.

He ginned and pulled out the decorations , passing a box to me.

We decorated up until the very last thing....the star.

Steve hoisted me up onto his shoulders and passed me the star.

With a long stretch, I reached the top of the tree, placing the star gently on top.

He carefully pulled me down, setting me on the ground.

" looks beautiful. Don't you think?" I asked with a smile, staring at the tree.

He grinned and put his arm around me.

" it is. But it's nothing compared to your beauty."

Trying to contain my blush, I looked down, giggling slightly.

I heard his laugh flow through the air and I shifted under my own weight.

" it's true."

" is not."

" is too."

" fine. I've got to go wrap your presents now." I humphed, stomping toward my room.

I felt his eyes on me as I walked towards my door.

" what? Why so late wrapping ?" He called.

i turned around with a disappointed sigh.

" well....as you should know if you remember, this is the first Christmas I've ever celebrated." I said shyly. Suddenly I was embarrassed just thinking of it.

He came over and wrapped his arms around me.

" I'm so sorry." He whispered into my hair.

" but at least your spending your first one with me." He said.

I nodded and smiled at the thought.

" spending my very first Christmas with the man I love the most in the world."
