Chapter 34

BRITTANY'S POV

A large explosion was heard and the door flew off its hinges.

As soon as it finished Steve was on his feet and in the room, searching desperately for his wife's body.

We walked in cautiously , but were relieved to see Johan's dead body on the floor. Jordan was somehow unharmed on the other side of the room, unconscious none the less, but alive. But Lucy's body, no where to be seen.

With no tracks or evidence to go by, we fell into silence, except for the silent gasping sobs of Steve.

I went over to him and patted his shoulder." We'll find her Steve. I know it."

He looked up at me with a tear stained face and sighed." I hope your right Brittany."

I nodded in acknowledgement and helped him stand before following the others into the jet, an unconscious Jordan on Thor's back. The thoughts finally rang through Steve's head and he dashed out onto the ground again and frantically searched.

"Lucy!!!" He yelled over and over again before tony flew out and put his hand on his back.

"Let's go big fella. There's nothing else we can do."

Steve obeyed sadly and sulked the whole way back to the tower.

Once off, we un boarded and dragged ourselves into the living room. Emma sat on the couch with her arm wrapped up and her stomach cradled in her hand.

" hey guys. How'd it go? Did yo- wait. Where's Lucy?"

Steve's head lowered again and he left the room with a sob. I looked after him with a look of apology, and turned back to her.

" Johan's dead. Jordan's unconscious and with the right treatment he will be back and running in about a month. Lucy, s-she died, killing herself. But she killed Johan as well while doing it. She risked her life for u-"

" wait wait wait! She didn't die! We don't know that! There was no body!" Steve exclaimed, stepping back into the room.

We all shook our head sadly." No Steve-"

" how do you not believe me? Her body couldn't just disappear like that!"

Steve wouldn't give up, and soon I was on his side." Fine. JARVIS, search for Lucy." I spoke to the computer.

" at once ma'am." The British voice answered.

We threw ourselves onto the couches and sulked for the rest of the evening.

Would we ever find her?

One month later...............

I started to walk down the hall towards my room when a searing pain flashed trough my stomach.

I groaned and leaned against the wall. Contractions. But it wasn't supposed to happen so soon. Next month I'm due.

There was no sign of Lucy. We've searched for a month but she's no where. And she's due in a couple weeks. Jordan is still not out of the treatment but we hope Lucy is found before he comes out.

Pain came again and I gritted my teeth and squeezed my eyes shut. It's too early. Suddenly my hand landed in something wet beside me and I gasped in shock, leaning over to see.

My water broke.

" NICK!!" I cried out, struggling to stand.

He came running it." What?!?" He asked urgently.

I pointed to the water." It's time."

His eye widened and he scooped me up in his arms and ran towards the lab.

Once we got in the lab he gave me to Bruce who set me on a hospital type bed and hooked me up to a machine.

" breath." He calmed me.

I inhaled and then quickly exhaled, nick holding my hand the whole way.

Soon enough I felt unbearable pain and I started to scream. Nicks grip on my hand got tighter and I started to push.

" come on Brittany." Bruce muttered but I hardly heard him.

Tears streamed down my face but soon enough, I heard a baby cry. Then another and another.

Triplets?

I opened my eyes to see three babies held in nicks lap.

I gasped slightly and gestured for him to give one to me." OMG." I muttered, stroking their faces." I'm a mom!" I said excitedly.

Nick grinned and sat down beside me." Names?"

I thought for a moment." The boy will be.......Wolfee Fuzzle Fury."

He raised an eyebrow but nodded.

" this girl, is Delilah Draven Fury. And the last one will be Gweneveire Johann Fury."

Nick nodded in approval and the babies cried out.
I wrapped them in blankets and smiled.

I'm a mother.
