Chapter 30

LUCY'S POV

Life for me right now was crazy.

I was now a married woman. By seven months.

Brittany and Emma both were pregnant. And Jordan? No closer to getting him.

I needed to find him and their 'leader' before.......well I have news.

All the cravings and stomach sickness? Well yeah, I'm pregnant. And I intended to kill the leader before I give birth.

So that my children won't live to see a day of death or destruction. I don't want them to grow up in fear. I will raise my children up the right way, they won't see any death, they'll see what any other normal child sees.

That's what I intend to do.

But first I've got to tell Steve.

And, I know, the kids won't have a totally normal life, their father a super soldier and their mother half energy consumer, half frost giant. They will inherit powers, and intend to help them grow and learn to use them for the good of it, not like how I learned......

" Lu ." Steve snapped his fingers in front of my face." You alright?" He asked.

I snapped back into reality and blinked before looking at him." Oh hehe sorry. I kinda spaced out."

He leaned back in his chair and ran his fingers through his hair." Yeah you muttered something about telling me something."

I sighed and placed my hand on my now bulging stomach, surprised that he didn't notice already.

" I have news." I cleared my throat and took a breath.

" I'm pregnant."

Steve stood up, a bewildered look on his face and he stormed out the room and slammed the door.

" what did I say?" I muttered to Natasha.

She put her hand on mine and smiled." I'm sure he just needs time. You know Steve, he's always trying to wrap his mind around everything. He'll be fine by tonight. Trust me."

Tasha and I had gotten closer. She and Clint were now happily married, two years actually. They've been married secretly. Only her, Clint and the preacher knew.

It surprised us all and Natasha actually has a two year old daughter who is being taken care of daily by Jane.

" well I've got to pick up Ava." Tasha stood and patted my shoulder." I'm sure things will work out."

I smiled an stood to hug her, when a piercing pain ricocheted through my stomach.

She saw my distress and held onto me." You ok?"

I nodded." Yeah."

" it seems like contractions but you shouldn't be having them so soon. Still two months."

I gasped in pain again." Well.....maybe me being from another world makes the baby come faster." I managed to blurt out.

She nodded." I'll get banner."

" but Ava-"

She stopped me.

" ill get Clint to pick her up."

She ran to the elevator calling to JARVIS.

As she left I lay on the couch and tried to wait out the pain.

For some reason a thought came to mind.

What if, the baby was coming early but since it is also coming early what if it's not now but at the end of the month? Maybe I'll have more contractions throughout the month before i give birth?

It's a pretty darn good theory.

But one thought rushed through my head.

Where is Steve when I need him?
