Chapter 33

"Love..." I called. Hindi niya ako pinansin pero pumasok siya sa loob ng bahay. Sumunod ako sa kaniya at nagulat ako nang ibato niya ang vase na nasa center table.

"Mark!"

Nilingon niya ako. His cold stares are making me shiver. Punong-puno ng galit ang kaniyang mga mata. It's my first time to see him like this. I can't even look straight to his eyes.

"What was that, Janine!?" Sigaw niya.

"Hinatid niya ako dito kasi -"

"Kasi !? Kasi magkasama kayo buong araw kahapon tapos hindi ka pa umuwi dito!"

"You didn't come home last night because you were with that fucking ex of yours. Ano!? Saan ka natulog!? Sa condo niya, 'di ba!? Ano!? Did something happened!? Fuck!" Nakaramdam ako ng takot at bahagyang napaatras nang binato niya pa ang isang vase. He's really mad right now, namumula na siya sa galit.

"Nothing happened. Mark, pag-usapan natin 'to nang maayos, 'wag 'yung ganito." Kalmado kong sabi kahit na sobrang lakas ng tibok ng puso ko dahil sa kaba at takot dala ng kaniyang malamig na tingin.

"Iyon ba ang ginagawa niyo kapag wala ako? Kapag malayo ako? Nakikipagkita ka pa rin sa kaniya!?"

"Mark..." I tried to approach him pero lumayo lang siya.

"Don't come near me... Umuwi ako dito dahil nalaman kong nakipagkita ka sa kaniya sa coffee shop. You told me that you're going to your friend's party, pumayag ako pero hindi mo nasabi sa akin na magkikita kayo. Bakit kayo magkasama? Someone saw you two there. I even called and texted you, pero wala kang sinagot ni isa..."

"Hindi naman siya dapat ang imimeet ko doon. Joseph texted me to meet him there but Ralph showed up instead."

"Oh, c'mon, Janine. Don't give me excuses!"

"But that was the truth!" Giit ko. Hindi ko na nasabi sa kaniya dahil nawala sa isipan ko. And I didn't check my phone.

"Then, why didn't you tell me? All of your lies and secrets, pinapalampas ko iyon. I'm not mentioning it to you because I want you to tell it to me yourself. Pero hanggang ngayon, wala!" Aniya.

"What?" Hindi makapaniwalang tanong ko. Ano bang sinasabi niya?

"About that time when you talked after your friend's wedding. Bakit hindi mo sinabi?" He asked.

"Mark..."

"Ja, iyong mga pagkikita niyo ng hindi ko alam, I can take that, I can forgive that. Pero iyong hindi ka umuwi dito tapos nandoon ka sa condo niya? That's too much. We already have Kenzo at ikakasal ka na sa akin, pero ba't nagawa mo pa din 'yun?"

"Mark, I was drunk, okay? I was in his condo because he can't remember our address and he can't drive since he's drunk too..."

"Iyon na nga, eh! You were drunk! How can you be so sure that nothing happened between the two of you!?" Lumapit siya sa akin kaya napaatras ako.

"Sa tingin mo ba wala akong alam? He told you that he still loves you, right? He told you that he wants you back. And there you are, secretly meeting him?" Hinawakan niya ang magkabilang braso ko. Ramdam na ramdam ko ang galit niya ngayong malapit siya sa akin, he's shaking in anger.

"Saan mo nalaman ang mga 'yan?" I bravely asked. Hindi ko alam kung saan ko nakuha ang lakas ng loob para tanungin siya. 

Napapikit siya at unti-unting lumuwag ang pagkakahawak niya sa akin.

"Ynna told me that she saw you with Ralph in the coffee shop, she doesn't know him but she mentioned that she already saw the guy you were with in the mall before. Clark told me that you were with Ralph in the seashore late at night. Ano pa bang sikreto ang hindi mo sinasabi sa akin, Ja!?"
