Time goes by quicker than expected for everyone, going in a rush almost as it's finally dark out and everyone grows more excited for the final night of the festival. The final act of the first night gets ready to perform the last song of the night, the crowd chanting their name begging for an encore. The headlining band happens to be the same band everyone knows for a meme because of one specific song and popularized on the mainstream radios. Nowadays, something considered a challenging feat knowing today's music standards would never allow rock music to play on the pop stations. Times have changed since, but their debut album's landmark on their career stands out.
The duets featuring some of the members of Sirens, also known as the same group of girls Midoriya, Kirishima, Sero, and Ashido, were hanging out with, got through their performances. All went by smoothly, and there's no denying everyone cannot wait for what's in store when that band performs. Midoriya happened to meet up with the rest of his friends. Well, minus Kirishima, since he wants his appearance to remain a secret and Louise, asked him to go backstage with her, before Bella was supposed to hit the stage with one of the opening acts.
All of them have been standing in their spots for hours, legs growing tired, but adrenaline keeps pulsing through them after each band. Jiro can say she's caught multiple picks from some guitarists and bassists as the night continued, and Bakugo and Tokoyami have caught either a drumstick or picks just like Jiro did. Yazoryouzo doesn't care that much, but Kaminari hasn't grabbed anything yet.
"Okay," the lead singer says into the microphone, "we're going to need a few people to join us on stage to sing backing vocals on this last song!"
A few people selected as the lead singer picked a few, but the only surprise to Jiro was that when the vocalist pointed at her direction, she didn't believe it at first. She looked at herself, mouthing "me," and the frontwoman nods her head and says, "yes, you," into the microphone.
"I wanna hear you sing as loud as you can, everyone!"
A/N: Play song now
The guitar riff starts, and the crowd goes ballistic, knowing the song so well.
'Now I will tell you what I've done for you.
Fifty-thousand tears I've cried.
Screaming, deceiving, and bleeding for you.
And you still won't hear me.'
"Going under!!!" The crowd yelled.
The lead singer sings beautifully and effortlessly into the microphone as Jiro and some other people selected to take up backing vocals harmonize. She's smiling and singing along, enjoying herself and surprised to know she got chosen amongst so many people. She's thankful she's known this song for so many years and bought the album this song has featured. Jiro remembers seeing these guys as her first concert and more than excited to see them one more time but in a different setting, and taking backing vocals.
'I'm going under (going under)
Drowning in you (drowning in you)
I'm falling forever (falling forever).
I've got to breakthrough.
I'm going under.'
"This is insane," Midoriya exclaims, "Jiro, our friend, is up on stage singing backup with these guys."
