The Last Vampire [DXD]

Volume 1 - Chapter 8

How? How could she possibly be pregnant? I know I may have finished inside of her but the birth rates of a Demon to repopulate are slim to none. I didn't even know cross-species breeding was a thing.

If this war is to truly unfold soon, I will need to protect my love and my unborn child. It has come to far for me to quit the war so I shall fight valiantly until I kill them all. Anything I have to do for those I love, I will do it.

I've felt like a large piece of me has been missing since I was younger so maybe this child can finally help me find peace. I will give this child the entire world and have everyone bow down to my offspring. A Vampire father and Demon mother, no doubt our child would be a powerhouse.

But I need to take some hefty precautions just in case the war gets out of hand. I need to pay my trusted friend a visit. My magician nekomata, Kuroka Toujou.

Although her loyalty is tied to me, she would have a lot of problems with the fact I almost killed her sister so I may skip over that little detail.

After ten minutes of running (using my super speed) I finally reached my destination. Kuroka was outside practicing her magic as always and I was almost the target of a untamed fireball.

"Calm down kitty, it is me."

"Awh, my master!" She exclaimed, jumping on me and hugging me tightly. I don't remember much from my childhood but I knew I had a family cat. Two of them actually. Kuroka and Koneko Toujou. Koneko was sent away though and grew to hate Kuroka in the following years. Whenever Kuroka needed me I was there every single time.

Her loyalty to me was long proved to me. I just need a favor from her now.

"What brings you here, Master?"

"Well I need a device that can seal someone away from Earth for the equivalent of three months. It needs to be a safe place with food and water to because-"

"Hm, a Blackwell? Wanting to protect someone? Never in a million years would I think you would protect someone other me or Celeste... Is that who you're protecting?"

"I know not of someone named Celeste. I am protecting Ayano, my Demon lover and our unborn child."

Her expression changed from bored to excited.

"Why didn't you tell me you were gonna be a daddy? Oh my god I'm so happy for you!" She exclaimed before I placed my hand over her mouth and glared slightly.

"Quiet, now. I don't want the entire world to know of my child. Or at least not yet. With a war brewing, there is no way I will raise my child like this. Not so I can die and have them grow up as a Bastard. Now, do you have the ability to do it?"

"Oh but of course. I am a expert magician, Master. Don't forget that. But I need you to fetch me a few items first."

RIAS POV

"He froze up when he saw Gasper. Like he was scared of him. Also, he wants to control Gasper because he knows that could possibly be the one could defeat him and even maybe kill him."

"Hmm, well Sister, if that's true, then I found something in addition that will help us defeat him. You see, long ago, before you and I were born, there were many purebred Vampires that didn't have to live in hiding. Among them as their leader was Count Dracula. He was vicious and ruthless but no one had the power to stop him. He faced Maou himself and almost won but his Vampires stopped him from killing him. Count Dracula was unstoppable for years. You see, when the Great War happened, we had two problems. The Heavenly Dragons and Dracula. So in a act of heroism, God, Lucifer, Maou, and Azazel all banded together temporarily to create a powerful weapon to seize Dracula for once and all. All they needed to do was put a pint of their blood into a stake of oak created by a Dhampir. As a result, the stake turns white after being fused with all the magic, holy and unholy, and became extremely lethal. Now, this was incredibly risky because even with the four of them going at Dracula, they barely had enough time to use it on him. But they did. They drove the stake through his chest and he collapsed and was consumed by flames."

"I see... but Brother, why are you telling me this?"

"Gasper Vladi is part Dhapmir and part Devil. I will go acquire some the blood of the new Faction leaders and I need you to go fetch him. He will need to fuse our blood together into the oak stake and then, we will be capable of killing Akihiko Blackwell for good."

Nodding, I turned away from my brother in search of Gasper. If what he says is true, we can finally have some sort of peace without that vindictive leader of a Vampire. Maybe we can go to Romania and see if there are any other Vampires suitable there to be a Faction Leader.

AKIHIKO POV

"Here it is, Master. She will be transported to a place in between realms and with a bit of tweaking, I made it so that she can watch over you from there and also her hunger or thirst won't apply in there, so your baby will be fine too. Lastly, I cloaked it so nobody will be able to sense her, no matter what power they have." Kuroka said, handing me the bracelet she created using her magic abilities.

"Thank you, my dear Kuroka. I will make sure to spare your sister in this war. Just stay safe too. If someone killed you, I would have to obliterate this entire planet. We will keep in touch." I said, placing a kiss on her cheek and she bowed with respect.

With this, I can fight to the fullest without having to worry about Ayano or our child. I must be sharp with strength and smarts in this war or I will inevitably be defeated. Even if I am immortal, my pride will not be.

I will win this war, however. I will make sure of that. While those imbeciles have no way of actually killing me, I have an idea on how painfully I could kill them.

RIAS POV

In tiny vials, there was the blood of the Faction Leaders. Lucifer's blood was viable still after all these centuries and that's what we used for the Demon's portion of the blood. Brother, Azazel, and Michael all contributed as well.

My quest was to inform Gasper about the situation and have him fetch a stake of oak. Easily enough, the one he used against Akihiko the other day was made of oak and that was perfect for us.

"Now, Gasper, you have to fuse the blood together. Can you do that?"

"Um... I think so.." He said timidly as he tried focusing on the vials in front of him.

He began chanting a fusion spell and the ground started to shake. The blood from the vials began floating from the tubes and into the air, connecting.

"It's working." Sirzechs said proudly.

As Gasper chanted more, the blood fused together completely. And while he looked exhausted, we needed to push him a bit further. Blood leaked from his nose as he continued chanting. The combined blood was directed to the stake and as the stake absorbed the blood, it began turning white.

"There it is. The white oak stake of Legend. Now, Rias, when the time is right there will come a time when you have to thrust that through his chest. Prepare yourself for war and any minute, Sister. I love you, be safe." Sirzechs said, kissing my forehead before teleporting back to the Underworld.

Gasper went to the Kitchen to get a pack of blood as I just observed the white oak stake. It was so powerful but looked so average. The element of surprise is the only way to win a war against a Blackwell. If that truly is the way we have to win then so be it.

I will not lose.
