The Last Vampire [DXD]

Volume 3 - Chapter 1

"My fellow Vampires, I will request that you all stay inside for the next few weeks until we can figure out how to stop the attacks on our people. It's not just limited to Vampires though. Devils have also been targeted so I ask you not engage in any fights or disputes with any Devils or you will be executed." Astral said with a stern expression as he talked amongst his fellow Vampires.

One of the Vampires, a fellow had been turned less than a month ago, spoke up. "So what if a bastard Devil dies. That's not our problem-"

Plunging his hand into the Vampires chest and yanking it out, Astral made himself abundantly clear. They were to follow the rules and if not, they died.

"Now I want you all to listen to me and-"

"Astral! Help!" Said Celeste. Running into the room with fresh bruises and gashes over her body. Especially a large gash running across her neck. Quickly, Astral ran over to Celeste and fed her a small portion of his blood. She began healing slowly as she sighed deeply.

"You are all dismissed. Leave now!" He yelled to his fellow Vampires as he sat down and consoled Celeste.

"What happened? Are you okay?" He said, brushing her hair back so he could stare in her eyes. She smiled softly at him and told him the truth about what happened.

Five of them. Demons such as her. Gathered together around her and began chanting in unison. An unimaginable pain shot through her body as one dived forward and punched at her.

Not having enough time to counter, she was punched in the jaw before the Demon kicked her in the chest. She flew backwards and hit her head on the pavement. Healing almost instantly, she stood up and created a ball of fire and launched it at them.

The Demons dispersed except for one. He stared into her eyes and began laughing manically. "Do you still love that Vampire? The one that has costed a War between factions on a whim of boredom? You are pathetic."

A bolt of lightning struck down on him. Celeste stared at him with a hatred filled expression and continued to electrify the Demon before being slashed by something. It drained her of her power literally.

"Hello there darling. It's been a while."

"Tazgos. Why do you have that Dagger?"

It was Lucius Blackwell's Dagger of Absorption. The sole thing that made him unique. It was one of the most powerful weapons on Earth, now in the hands of Tazgos. The Ruler of Hell.

"I want to send a message to the Blackwells. I've come back to make sure they all die. Vampires took too much from us. I will eradicate them." He said as he slashed at her neck, leaving a large gash.

The wound didn't heal. It was because of the Dagger's ability to absorb, it drained her of her mana making her unable to heal. Gasping for hair and clutching her wound, Celeste made an escape as he chuckled to himself while licking the blade that had her blood covered on it.

"I am going to fucking kill him." Astral said, clenching his fists and gritting his teeth.

"We wouldn't even know where to find him. Plus, I'm sure he's way stronger with that Dagger now. Probably absorbing power from his followers. You may not even be able to scratch him now. God knows how long he even had that thing anyways-"

"I don't care. No one hurts my friends and gets away with it. I will serve his head to you on a silver platter." He said, leaning in to place a small kiss on her forehead. She wanted to say something but couldn't bother to.

Astral stood up and grabbed his sword before leaving, going to find Tazgos and finish him.

A/N: This is a shorter chapter because I didn't really know how to start and end it off since I've gotten rusty at writing again but hopefully I'll be writing again more often and I've chosen to not rewrite the story since I just think I like everyone as they are now (they may have change in character sooner or later) but I think I'll stick to the Originals. Anyways I hope you enjoyed the chapter.
