The Last Vampire [DXD]

Volume 2 - Chapter 6

"Haa!" Vraes grunted as he struck Astral with a swift punch. The punch landed differently on his cheek, causing a small bruising. Angry, young Astral retaliated by using the sword his mother gifted him just a year before to pierce the stomach of his older brother.

"Ack! Astral-" Vraes called out in pain before forcibly removing the sword. His wound healed in a matter of minutes after consuming blood of a squirrel that had been roaming around. He ruffled his younger brother's hair and pulled him in a headlock.

"You're so much trouble, youngest brother. It is a shame we can't train together as often as we like. With Father being.. well Father, we need to stay away from each other if push comes to shove. He hates that you love Vali and anyone who loves you is blamed on you."

"What does that mean?" Astral spoke, confused. His voice was small and his body was shaking from a rage he didn't know he was experiencing.

"Every time someone in our family bonds with you, he beats you more viciously to show us an example to not love you or Vali."

"But Vali is our brother. Nevermind that we only share one parent, he is still our blood. Ironically because we're Vampires but we are family. And I will always treat him as such."

From behind them, a small boy (a bit taller than Astral but a slight shorter than Vraes) with spiked white hair and tattered clothes eavesdropped. It was their "Bastard" brother, Vali Lucifer Blackwell. He was the result of an affair that his father had. With Lilim Lucifer, one of the strongest Devils at the time. She bore the secret child and when he was born, Lucius brought Vali home somewhat proud but soon he would find out that his wife wouldn't be as happy.

Stemming from the hatred of the affair, Lucius's wife wouldn't dare speak to him for another year. Though, she cared for Vali as one of her own, she despised Lucius. And as Lucius could not blame himself for his mistake, he began hating his child because his wife hated him.

"But Brother, treating Vali with the same love as you do us is a safety hazard. Father would kill you." Vraes warned as he grabbed his bow and walked over to the entrance of the manor.

"If I have to die for my big brother, I will. I'll die for anyone of you all because I love you all so much." Astral said with a small smile as Vraes, who had his back turned, smirked before entering the house.

"Do you have any ideas where he is?" Kriassia questioned, irritated. She was walking ahead of everyone else despite being the only one who didn't know where to look.

"I have tracking spells on all of my siblings so yes of course I know where he is. The problem is trying to convince him. Like you, Sister, the only way we'll be able to convince him of anything is through Astral." Arkab explained as he led them all to Northen Europe.

"You never knew he was here, Sister? Could you not sense him?" Astral questioned as he followed Arkab past the tourists and normal civilians.

"I couldn't because we all had surpassed our powers so we wouldn't ever be sensed. We only allowed Arkab to find us via tracking spells in case something happened. You, Brother, had a case of another personality so we don't blame you for the ruin you caused." She said with a chuckle. Astral blushes in embarrassment and doesn't talk for the rest of the walk

Soon arriving at a large mansion, Arkab informs his siblings that this is the place where Vraes resides. Before they could make another step, Vraes appeared outside with his bow in his hand.

"Ahh well if it wasn't Arkab and the rest of my beautiful siblings. Forgive me for almost killing you all, stepping on my land is how people get demolished." He says with a laugh.

"Hello, Brother it's been a while." Kriassia said as she went to hug her younger brother. With a smile, he returned the hug.

"May I ask you why we have all grouped up at my house. Couldn't we find like a different place? I'm down for killing our enemies but not here. I actually like this house." Vraes said with a slight chuckle and he snapped his fingers and his bow disappeared.

"So there is a reason why I decided to gather everyone back up." Vali said.

"If it's about the Quintillus guy and his group of Vampires, it's okay I already know. I've staked a few of them but sometimes I had to flee because they are extremely powerful even for me." Vraes explained.

"Well.. it's not just them I'm afraid. There is an invention that was made that could bring back the Original Vampires. From what we know, Dracula was killed and the other two were sealed away for eternity." Vali explained somewhat nervously.

"Why would the Vampires bring back the Originals besides the power anyways? I thought the Originals despised their lineages." Astral said.

"Well.. They do but The Originals want your child Astral. A descendant of the Original mixed with a High-Class Demon... the offspring would be amazingly powerful. Dracula wants that type of power at his disposal and I'm sure Vel and Petra will try to stop him." He explained as Astral's eyes widened in surprise.

"Over my dead body will I allow them to take my child. I'm going to Kuoh right now, follow me if you want but I am going to kill every single Vampire there if I have to." Astral said angrily, dispersing into a bat, flying off to Kuoh, Japan to see Celeste and his unborn child...

Bio of Kriassia

The second weakest member of the Sins. She uses attractiveness to lure her enemies into a trap before killing them. Kriassa is the sole caretaker of Astral and will protect him from harm's way no matter what happens to her. However, when she was younger, she overlooked Astral many times just to find a boy to fall in love with. Her greatest weakness is the fact she lusts after someone who she barely knows leading her to heartbreak. Her heartbreak leads to unyielding rage which takes months to contain. Because of this, her lust makes her weaker than she actually is.

Bio of Vraes

The third member of the Seven Deadly Sins. While he ranks 5th in power compared to the rest of the Sins, if challenged to a battle with any of them, he would definitely win. His smarts and strength can be unmatched if he chooses, however due to his greed of other things like fortune and women, he will always fall behind his siblings.
