The Last Vampire [DXD]

Volume 2 - Chapter 2

He turned around, scanning for any indication of anyone near him. It looked like nobody was there but he spotted a man hiding behind a rock. The boy couldn't see much of the mysterious man but he saw a crystal ball that was levitating beside him.

He assume the man saw him looking at him because he dashed away. Getting up, the boy was ready to chase this mysterious guy and get answers on why he was spying on him.

Quickly dashing through the forest, Akihiko chases the man who seemingly disappeared into thin air. Clearly underestimating the limits of his new body, the mysterious man forgot to cloak himself or maybe he wanted to be chased.

Akihiko sprinted around the leafless trees and tried to locate the man. The man chanted a few words as his Crystal Ball luminated brightly and he disappeared into thin air. Gritting his teeth, Akihiko followed the essence he sensed that led to a cave.

Storming towards the cave, Akihiko is blown back by some sheer force. It was a great deal of power that had to be magical. What type of magic was it? Territorial magic? A form of Dark Magic?

"Agh!" Crashing into a tree, Akihiko grunted before unsheathing his sword. His eyes darted around the forest and he sensed someone that was no one near him but everywhere around at the same time.

He scuffed before yelling out into the empty woods. "Whoever's our there, come face me!"

The words echoed through the woods and the trees that weren't already leafless, became so. One tree was set ablaze after the man of mysterious came down and revealed his face.

He had tanned skin with stubble on his chin and dark brown eyes. His dark brown hair is styled in dreadlocks that stick out as large points.

The man stared at Akihiko with a cold glare and smirked before speaking.

"If you can beat me in a fight then I will tell you who I am..."

Without hesitation, Akihiko dashes in and punches at the man repeatedly. The attacks were blocked instantly or evaded with ease. The man outstretched his hand and a gust of wind blew Akihiko backwards.

Grunting, he got up shakily and gripped his sword and sprinted towards him. The man glared as he stood defiantly as Akihiko slashed him. Akihiko struck an invisible barrier of magic while the man smiled. He couldn't penetrate the barrier as hard as he tried.

I can't hit this guy... What in the hell is he made of? What type of magic is he using?

The man vanished and reappeared around, dashing back and forth around him, ready to strike Akihiko unknowingly at anytime.

There, he thought as he turned around and brought up his sword to defend himself just as the man brought down his fist that had been engulfed with some Dark Magic.

"Good job. You managed to succeed in not getting caught with that attack. It would have certainly finished you."

"You... Why were you following me?"

"I wasn't following you per se. I was making sure you were safe. I didn't know if you'd be okay."

Akihiko wore a puzzled expression as he went to speak. "Do I know you? From my previous life? I mean, from when I was still evil and vampiric? Did I ever hurt you because if so I'm sorry I didn't-"

"Ahaha, it is fine. You never hurt me and in fact I don't think we've been properly introduced yet. Brother."

"Brother?"

"Yes, Brother, I am Arkab Blackwell, a Vampire. And a member of the Seven Deadly Sins."

"Seven Deadly Sins? Like the biblical ones?"

"Yes, but we are far from biblical, Brother. If the God of the Bible was still alive he'd lay us all to waste. Us sins are the bane of existence for many people. We are Vampires which are bloodsucking creatures of darkness and not to mention we fit the criteria to be apart of the worse Sins ever written."

"Arkab? Brother.. I never knew that I was apart of such a strong family.."

Arkab outstretched his palm towards Akihiko and chants silently and Akihiko's fatigue as well as he damaged he took from earlier erased easily. He smirked and handed his brother a handkerchief to wipe his sweat.

Accepting the handkerchief and wiping his sweat, Akihiko stared Arkab before speaking. "Our brother, Vali, has a house near here. I can take you to him if you'd like."

"Vali? I haven't seen him in eight years. I should go and pay my brother a visit. Take me to him, Brother."

A/N: Seven Deadly Sins :) Let's see how well that goes for the Blackwell brothers being related to a members of the Sins. More will be explained about them later on in the story.

The weakest of the Seven Deadly Sins. He uses his talent in magic to only do things for himself. He has never trained or expanded his power and could be beaten with ease if he isn't supported by someone with high physical or mental power. His weakness is the laziness he has that will always be his downfall.
