The Last Vampire [DXD]

Volume 2 - Chapter 7

"Issei!" Rias yelled as she watched her boyfriend get blown back by the sheer force of two Vampires. Both of them female who looked practically identical besides the difference in hair color.

(Black haired one is Calavia. The white haired one is Varia.)

Calavia and Varia Redrule. Descendants from the Original, Petra Redrule. The two of them in unison attack the Peerage of Rias Gremory as she stands back and watches in horror. Yuuto Kiba sprints forward using his immense speed and slashes at Calavia.

Catching the blade between her fingertips, Calavia kicks Kiba all the to the other side of the park. With a loud thud, Kiba hits the ground. He grunts in pain as he tries to get up but falls back down immediately. In a matter of seconds, Calavia is in front of him and she begins choking him.

"Hey bitch, pick on someone your own size!" Kuroka said with a glare as she struck Calavia. Engulfing her hands with magic and punching her, Kuroka used every ounce of mana (magical energy/stamina) she had to injure Calavia. Staggering backwards, Calavia wiped her lip of the fresh blood that oozed from it.

Her eyes flickered red as she entered her Bloodlust form. Her fangs grew larger in size and Kuroka felt her power skyrocket. She vanished and reappeared behind Kuroka, grabbing her by her throat and tossing her across the park like she did to Kiba. As she hit the ground and caused a small crater, Kuroka stood up shakily and was met with the face of Katerea Leviathan.

"What are you doing here, Katerea?" She questioned as Katerea helped her up.

"I just wanted to help you out. Stop being so sour Kuroka, I get you're upset but you should be more happy. Your boyfriend is alive and well." She says as Kuroka's cheeks turn pale. She fidgets and chuckles nervously.

"He's not my boyfriend.. He loves Celeste or Ayano or whoever he's with nowadays. But anyways he's alive? I thought he died a few months ago. I mourned for days straight a time. I couldn't even leave bed."

"He didn't die. His body was dying slowly but Rias didn't fully kill him. He was more like in a poisoned slumber that would kill him a little bit more everyday. I tell you this though because he's going to arrive shortly."

"Well let's fight until they get here."

Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Rias was getting thrashed around by Quintillus. He punctured her carotid artery with his fangs and drank the blood that seeped from it. She screamed and used her Demonic Magic to repel him.

He jumped back and hissed at her as his Bloodlust form took over. 

(Not sure if I ever explained how they look when using Bloodlust but basically they look the same as normal but just with red eyes and veins popping up underneath their eyes.)

"Hey jackass... Remember me?" Said Astral as he tackled Quintillus down and punched him in the face repeatedly. Struggling to get Astral off of him, Quintillus used his claws (Vampire nails are sharp) to slice his chest.

"Agh!" He screamed as he staggered back in pain. Summoning his mythic sword, Astral dashes towards Quintillus and slashes his face. The wound wasn't very deep but it inflicted a sharp pain that caused Quintillus to wallow in pain.

"What the hell? That's the power of a... How did you manage to fuse the ashes of White Oak into that sword?" He says as he turns away from Astral, trying to hide his pained face.

"So that's what makes this sword mythic. The ability for a Vampire to slay Originals and the Descendants. Well then, I'll sure kill all of-"

Varia drove a stake through Astral's heart. He screamed in pain before forcibly ripping it out and kicking her back. She hisses at him as she switches to her Bloodlust form.

"Is it me or does everyone have a Bloodlust form.. Damn it this is not how I wanted today to go." Astral said releasing his power and zooming around Varia with the stake in his hand. He stabbed her in the chest with the stake before kneeing her forehead. She groaned before grabbing his arm and twisting it.

She roundhouse kicked him into a tree, grabbed the stake from off the ground and pierced it through his chest once again. He coughed up blood and chuckled as he stared into Varia's eyes. "Last time I checked the one with the stake in his heart shouldn't be laughing." She said as she twisted the stake around.

"AGHH!" He screamed loudly. Rias, who was watching them torture Astral, stood up and directed a blast of Demonic Magic towards them. Erecting a shield of magic, Quintillus smiled at Rias Gremory for her attempt to help Astral even though it still failed horribly.

Quintillus unsheathes his sword and holds it up to Astral's face. "I could kill you right here and now but I think I want to torture you a bit first.." He says as he pierced Astral's eyeball with his sword. Turning the sword, Quintillus laughed while Astral yelled in pain.

"What the hell is going on here? Akihiko... is that you? What are you doing to him?" Katase yelled as she ran towards Quintillus and tried to punch him. She connected with a punch to his jaw that did nothing besides piss him off.

He turned back to look at her and backhanded her. She went flying backwards and as she was about to hit the ground, it occurred to Astral that as a human, she probably couldn't survive getting hurt like that. Quickly, Astral removes the sword that stabbed his eye and stake that was stuck in his heart and dashed over to Katase. He catches her in midair and lands with her in his arms. Placing her down gently, he gives her a reassuring look.

"I'm sorry that he hurt you, Katase. I will make him pay." He said as he pressed his lips against Katase's forehead. She blushed deeply, caught off guard by his sudden act of protection and the kiss. Even if it wasn't a kiss on the lips it was still a kiss that he shared with her.

Astral looked up at Quintillus and Varia, glaring daggers at the both of them. His clenched his fists and his power skyrocketed as his red aura radiated around him. He entered his Bloodlust form and summoned his sword, ready for battle.

"Well, it's been really fun Quintillus, but now I will end you."
