Speed. Strength. Endurance. Emotions. Everything is heightened when you become a Vampire. That's what my father says. Lucky for us we don't have to adjust. We were born this way, naturally as Vampires. It started with my grandfather, Dracula Blackwell. He was one of the Original Vampires in all of History.
He wasn't a good guy though. Or so Father claims. Father says that our grandfather is the worse man in history and that for a little over 50 years, our father ran from him. Dracula was a part time Vampire Hunter over his own Clan, The Blackwells. Father told us that Dracula wanted us to die since we weren't made in his image. Anyone with compassion would die immediately by his hands.
Or so that's what he told us. I met our grandfather once, and with all the bias I felt towards him, I did not feel threatened by him and he didn't try to harm me or any of my siblings at least once. He even showed Vali hospitality. Vali is my older brother, the mistaken one as Father wanted to name him.
Vali was the result of an affair and when Mother learned of what he done, she didn't talk to him for a year. Then, the abuse started. First, it was only Vali who got beaten at every single opportunity but after I tried to stop our father from killing him, the beatings were inflicted on me.
~Six Months Later~
Vali was impaled by our father with a wooden stake through the chest. It didn't reach his heart but he still almost died. We are direct descendants of an Original Vampire meaning normal stakes won't harm us but until we drink blood, our powers are dormant. Vali's healing powers weren't activated yet since our father forbid him from blood.
If Klaor didn't find him when he did, Vali would be dead.
"Boy, what are doing in here? Come outside to train with Klaor in an hour. Or I will beat you until you see the stars." He said with a chuckle. He was drunk again. On bourbon. He was even more abusive to Vali and I when he drunk. Sometimes he'd beat us for no reason.
"You should leave them alone." My mother said, as all of my siblings and myself looked at her with a sense of gratitude. Especially Vali. My father hissed at her and walked to my mother before slapping her in the face.
"Sleep now, my darling wife. I love you." He said as he blew some sort of powder on her face. She fell over unconscious, and he snapped his fingers and a coffin appeared. He placed my mother inside the coffin and with the snap of his fingers, it would disappear again.
"What did you do to mother?" Atha cried as she summoned her axe and rushed our father. He quickly grabbed Vali and used him as a shield.
"Go ahead and strike me, Daughter. I will have you end the life of this pathetic boy anyways."
~Two Months Later~
"You're older now, Boy. I should teach you how to drink blood from humans. You can also feast on other Vampires which would fulfill you more but there is nothing more tasty than the blood of a human." He said as he chucked a small boy towards me. He slit the boy's wrists with a pocket knife and forced me to feed on him.
The boy looked at me and begged me to not kill him. He was only around 7 which was a year younger than I am, even though he was just a mere human, I would not kill him.
"He's a child like me, Father. I can't kill-"
He grabbed me and threw me into a tree. I tried to get up but I couldn't move, and he drove a stick through my chest as I tried getting up again.
He smiled at me and stabbed the boy in the neck as he shoved his body towards me. Unable to resist, I felt my teeth morph into fangs as an unspeakable pain shot through my gums and I dug my fangs into his neck, draining him of his blood and his life.
