𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟱"mommy, what's a soulmate?" heejin asked, tugging on her mother's shirt with a book in her hand.
"soulmate? heejin, where did you hear the word soulmate?" her mother chuckled, bending down slightly and picking the girl up.
"in my book!" heejin exclaimed, excitedly pointing towards the new word that sat on the page of her new book.
she stared at the word curiously before looking up towards her mom with sparkling eyes, her small legs swinging back and forth while her mother stirred the food sitting in a pot on the oven.
"well, a soulmate is someone very important to your life. when you are older, cupid will pair you with the person he thinks is best fit for you," she explained, looking from the girl to the food.
"when will I get my soulmate, mommy?" the small girl asked, a pout sitting on her face while she tilted her head down to rest on her mother's shoulder.
"well, I don't know, baby. you could receive your soulmate at any time! daddy and i were paired up when we were both nearing 21. but your aunt and uncle were paired up when they were only 16. it just depends." she explained, setting the girl down and finishing the last pieces of food.
"oh. when do you think i will get my soulmate?" she asked curiously, walking away from her mother's heels and climbing up a chair that was against the island.
"i don't know. whenever the time is right. but that's enough soulmate talk, heejin. let's eat, alright?"
"okay!" heejin giggled, shutting her book and beginning to blow on her hot food.

"sooyoung, do you know what a soulmate is?" a bored heejin asked, her back against the friend's bed as she stared up at the ceiling.
"no, i don't." sooyoung pouted, thinking about how she had never truly been curious enough to take action.
"what about you, jisoo?" the younger girl only shook her head no.
"maybe we should look it up!" jiyeon suggested while continuously spinning around in sooyoung's chair.
"good idea. we can use my computer." sooyoung agreed, pointing towards the laptop sitting on the desk beside jiyeon.
"what's the password?" she asked, staring blankly at the password screen.
"guess!"
"is it your birthday? 0-1-0-6-1-9. no, it's not that." jiyeon complained, removing her hands from the desk.
"try all of our birthdays."
"okay, uh, let's start with mine. 9-8-1-2-0-9. uh, heejin? 9-9-1-0-0-2. nope. jisoo? 0-0-1-1-0-1. nope. it's none of those!" jiyeon explained, angrily brushing her hands through her hair.
"quite complaining. it's the day we all met." sooyoung laughed, habitually covering her mouth with her hand.
"0-6-0-1-2-2. and we're in. what do we look up?"
"just search 'soulmate' or something."
