soon enough the two were at the hospital, walking inside to the floor her mother was at.
"heejin?" she heard the doctor's voice.
with quick reflexes, heejin's stood up and walked over. yeonjun waiter in one of the seats, knowing it wasn't his place to interfere yet.
"what's wrong with her?" heejin asked immediately, already preparing for the worst possible scenarios.
"heejin, i'm sorry-"
"she's dying, isn't she?"
"well, technically yes. but we can help her. we told you that the heart surgery would take place next month at the latest to give you some time to get the money.
"but, you're mother is getting sicker and sicker even with everything we do. the surgery will need to take place - at the latest - by the end of next week. or...she may pass away."
the news made heejin want to drop to the floor and cry. her heart basically dropped to the floor.
she had no way of getting all of the money needed for the surgery that quickly.
heejin, what's wrong?
do i need to come over there?
are you okay?
"okay, thank you," she said plainly, no emotion showing on her face.
an awkward silence washed over the doctor, making her bid goodbye and turn to leave with a sorrowful smile.
she quietly walked back over to yeonjun, who immediately hugged her tightly.
"i'll tell you in the car," she says quietly, her small hand holding onto yeonjun's bigger one tightly.
yeonjun kept quiet, feelings a mix of emotions coming from heejin all at once.

"alright, what's going?" he asks slowly, turning his body towards heejin's to focus solely on her.
"they need me to pay for the surgery by next week. if not, my mother could die."
silence took over the both of them.
"they're asking you to come up with millions [of won] in one week? when they originally told you, you had a month?"
"yes."
"damn." he sighed, trying to think of ways to help his soulmate out, in any way possible.
more silence. but yeonjun could feel heejin holding something back.
"what are you thinking?" he asked, slow droplets of rain beginning to fall outside of the car.
"the only way i think we could possibly do is hold some kind of concert thing and perform. but i don't want to work the others just for my own benefit."
"do you think there would be enough people wanting to watch us perform?"
"i'd like to believe so. with our groups combined? i think it'd be enough."
"well then, let's see if the others are up for it."
