his blond hair shined brightly against the afternoon sun. his body layered up with a jacket to block out the cold wind that flourished through the air.
"hey, hey, it was a joke." the man said, his once cocky smile now turned into a frightened one.
"no, it wasn't a joke. go back to your creepy hole and leave us alone." yeonjun said in a dark voice, pulling heejin against his body as they turned away.
they walked closely until sure the old man was gone.
"you shouldn't go out by yourself without your car." yeonjun lectures her, sliding off his hoodie and putting it over heejin's head after seeing her small body shivering.
"well, it's broad daylight. i didn't think people were that idiotic." heejin huffed, pulling her arms into the sleeves without question.
"just be safe, please."

the two parted ways from one another before heejin arrived home. she had forgotten that yeonjun lived quite close to where her mother had been staying.
"heejin, where are the groceries? and where'd you get that hoodie?" her mother rolled herself closer to heejin- who had just locked the door once coming inside.
"it smells like cologne." she continued, a smile invading her lips at the sudden realization.
"there was a creepy man messing with me at the store. yeonjun came out of literally nowhere and the man left," she said bluntly, walking over to the couch and sitting down tiredly.
"oh my god, are you okay?" her mother asked worriedly, a bit taken aback by her daughter's calmness towards the situation.
"i'm fine. yeonjun walked with me until the man was gone and then lectured me about going out without my car," she said bitterly, crinkling her nose at the memory.
"i see he's taking on his role quite nicely. it's making my job as a mother easier." her mother giggled, causing heejin to playfully scoff.
"your role?"
"yes, my role as your personal protector. i watch over and make sure you're clumsy-self is safe practically twenty-four/seven. but now that's yeonjun's job so i can just sit back and observe."
"i'm not that clumsy." heejin retorted, pouting as she crossed her arms like a child.
"not that clumsy? heejin you literally fell down the stairs like two hours ago." her mother laughed.
"whatever." she huffed, hiding her smile.
