over the course of the next few days, heejin was very hard on herself.
she was hard on herself a lot anyway, but with the new knowledge of knowing she will have to perform in front of thousands of people really made her rethink the way she looked at herself.
she spent an excessive amount of time in the dance practice room going over all of the dances in the songs and practicing her vocals, being rapping, and singing.
she was also spending a lot of time babysitting. mostly babysitting nayeon since her mother was single and needed to work a lot to keep their home stable.
and even with these three things invading her life, she also had to go to class and learn and take notes, etcetera.
it was a lot but she was too stubborn to give in.
this resulted in a lot of time with yeonjun. they hadn't moved very far in their relationship though, as they were both set on the goal of helping heejin's mother.
they were already nearing three months in the relationship and hadn't even kissed on the lips yet, the farthest they had gone was simple cheek kisses, hand-holding, hugging, and other small skinship.

"alright, you guys take a break." heejin called out, walking over to the computer and stopping the music before it could replay.
"heejin, you keep telling us to rest for like ten minutes after every song. it's okay, we can practice longer." jiyeon patted her back soothingly.
"but i don't want to overwork you guys." heejin sighed, walking over towards the wall and beginning to do the dance moves herself, evaluating the way she moved intensely.
"we've practiced enough to know when we need breaks. but right now isn't one of those times. really, jin. you've been too hard on yourself." sooyoung told her, also evaluating her own dance moves in the mirror.
"guys, i'm fine." heejin said plainly.
jisoo watched in disappointment from the corner of the room, strumming her guitar carefully.
"i'm texting yeonjun, you need a break," she said, placing down the guitar and walking over to her phone.
"what, no, don't call him. he's already worrying too much about me." heejin said, turning towards jisoo.
but somehow she already had the phone held out in front of her, the ringing sound infiltrating the now silent room.
"hey, ji." yeonjun's voice sounded from the other side.
"hey yeonjun. can you do me a favor?"
"depends on the favor. does it involve moving? 'cause i'm kinda tired." he yawned.
"i mean it involves heejin." jisoo shrugged, eyeing heejin as she spoke.
"heejin? what's the favor?"
"she's overworking herself again."
"trust me, i know. my body is aching right now. please tell her to rest for a bit."
"actually, that's why i called you. we're too worried for her. can you take her to eat or something? just get her to calm down."
"of course! tell her i'll be there in twenty."
"she heard. we'll see you in a bit, bye now."
"bye~"
"you guys are despicable." heejin groaned, going over to her bag and picking it up to go shower and change.
"you love us."
"believe what you want."
