the white walls around the room were illuminated with the light of the burning sun outside.

inside the room were two figures that laid close together in a singular bed, covered with a large and soft gray blanket.

suddenly there was a movement, heejin had, unlike yeonjun, finally awoken.

her eyes carefully fluttered open, only to close when met with the streaks of sunlight shining through the curtains.

with a small huff of air escaping her lips, she closed them tightly, turning her head back into the crook of yeonjun's neck without realization.

after a second of realizing she was being hugged by someone, she quickly lifted her head upwards once again to see who it was.

with her eyes barely opened as she was still not used to the sunlight, she looked at the male.

the blond hair sitting on top of his head plus the naturally pouting lips gave away the person's identity.

yeonjun.

but she had been too tired to care, sighing as she pulled her arms close once again and snuggled in closely to yeonjun's warm body.

in seconds, she was once again soundly asleep, her arms wrapping around yeonjun's waist without her own knowledge.

minutes later yeonjun himself had woken up. he opened his eyes rather slowly, disoriented and still in a lot of pain.

looking down to the weight sitting against him, he gulped at the realization.

looking down, his eyes finally opened normally. he stared down at heejin for a moment, taking in her features as she rested - hopefully peacefully.

their relationship before finding out they had found out they were soulmates was quite questionable, to say the least.

they weren't very nice to each other, yet they definitely weren't mean. they weren't close but they weren't just acquaintances.

they didn't love each other but then again, they didn't hate each other.

their bond as soulmates would never allow for them to hate each other. sooner than late, they would have to come together.

feeling his head begin to throb immensely, he clutched his eyes together and tilted his head back against the pillow.

"i'm sorry...for all those years i didn't do as you asked," he muttered, hugging her tighter as he felt himself drift into sleep.
