more days passed with no avail. heejin was still gone and none of the others knew how to find her.
all of her known social media accounts had been deactivated, the only thing keeping her possibly in touch with the people she was closest with was her phone number. and even then, she didn't answer any of their calls or messages.
day ten.
yeonjun was in better condition compared to heejin.
he could still muster up enough strength to get to his classes and go out every few days.
while his soulmate was in bed, enclosed within a dark space as the light outside illuminated so brightly i felt as if it were torture whenever she opened her eyes ever so slightly.
"yes?" heejin groaned when she heard the soft knocking on the door that separated her from the rest of the world.
"i made breakfast for you and your mother." her mother's health care worker said, her voice calming as she walked over and carefully setting down the food on her nightstand.
"thank you." heejin managed to say.
minsoo looked at the girl for a moment before deciding to get closer to the younger girl.
"heejin, i know this isn't period cramps. now tell me what's wrong. why are you in so much pain?" she asked, carefully moving the few pieces of hair from heejin's face while she looked up to her.
"do i have to?" heejin whined, turning her head away from the worker and stuffing it back into her silk pillow.
"well, no, you don't. but i've worked with your mother for nearly 10 years now and i've been around long enough to know when something is wrong with you. and with my time, i've learned how to tell when you're hiding something. now, spill. because i know it's eating at you right now."
"fine." heejin huffed, turning her head quickly and then letting out a groan of pain.
"take it easy." minsoo rushed, softly holding on to heejins neck as she helped her move slowly.
after finally helping heejin lay on he back while in the least amount of pain, she began explaining herself.
"so," she paused, "i connected with my soulmate."
