The day passed slowly. Everyone continuesly thinking about the Planks.

I helped Max gather most of the weapons, leaving some for the Conquerors who were remaining in Survival.

Then I helped Will pack backpacks for as many Conquerors as we could, packing food, water, flashlights and Emergency Med-Stop kits.

Afterwards, I helped Jed feed everyone who was going to the Split.

Out of the fifty people there, twenty-seven were going with us and the rest were staying.

We decided that Faye would go with us. Faye would be watched by Will and some other Conquerors while we attacked the Mutator. We wanted to make sure she was protected.

I sat in my hammock, knowing that in five minutes, I would have to walk to the Planks. I didn't want to admit it, but I was afraid. My hands were shaking horribly and I found it hard to sit still.

Don't be afraid. Everything is going to work out fine, said Nathan.

Before I had the chance to stop myself, I replied to the voice in my head, "Can you not just leave me alone? Can I think without you roaming my thoughts?"

Much to my surprise, Nathan replied. Jordyn, I'm just trying to help.

"I get that, but besides Nathan, I know nothing about you. How do I know if you even exist?" I asked out loud.

Because, believe it or not, we know each other better than you would expect, said Nathan. I could almost hear a certain annoyance in his voice.

"Than why don't you tell me who you are?" I asked, becoming aggravated

It's not that easy Jordyn, he replied with a sigh.

"Are you talking to yourself?" asked a familiar villainous voice from behind me. I turned to see someone I hadn't spoked to since my arrival.

"Allyana?" I asked dumbly.

"How is it Tromper? Listen here, I've got a question for you," she said as she punched my arm.

I flinched and gritted my teeth as I said, "That just so happens to be the arm I got stitched, Tromper."

Allyana winked at me before saying, "Like I care. Listen, I've need to ask you something about Faye." I rolled my eyes at her, waiting for her to continue.

"She told me that she was sleeping and was woken up with a... voice. Like the little weirdo was hearing voices or something. Someones otta talk to her," Allyana spoke. I didn't believe her at first, but her frustrated brow told me that she was telling the truth.

I rolled my eyes at her as I stood. I began looking for Faye. Faye shouldn't have a voice. It's too odd... How long has she had the voice? Does it have a name?

I spotted Faye in the distance. Faye was drawing something in the dirt with a stick as she sang to herself.

"Faye! Come here!" I shouted as I waved her to come to me, and she did.

I watched her run, swinging the stick and singing louder. When I turned around, Allyana left, working on getting everyone else's nerves.

"Yes Jordyn?" asked little Faye.

"I need to talk to you Faye. It's about something serious. Something about... a voice you heard while you were sleeping?" I asked, almost afraid of her answer.

Little Faye seemed to think on her response before saying, "Her name is Katherine. She woke me up because she was yelling at me."

"What was she saying?" I asked carefully.

"I don't know. She said something like, 'I'm here for you little girl.' And, 'Come find me,' " replied Faye.

I stared at her, almost horrified. I was worried that the Outsiders were trying to hurt Faye, that they were trying to mess up her mind too.

"All right... Keep this to yourself, no questions. All right? Okay. I think Will has some suger cubes left if you want some, okay?"

"Okay Jordyn!" Faye cheered as she left. I expected a different reaction from her but she seemed completely calm.

It's our way of getting to you. Communication Jordyn, Nathan said above a whisper.

"Our way? You are all together? The voices? You're with each other?" I asked out loud. There wasn't a response however.

"Nathan?"

Nothing.

"Nathan? Where'd you go?"

Not a sound.

"Nathan... please?"

Silence.
