WHEN MY ALARM goes off in the morning I let out a groan and pop one eye open to find my phone. It's still on the bed next to me, and when my finger taps the screen to stop it I feel Xavier stir beside me.
I had almost forgotten everything happened last night. For the first time in months I didn't have a nightmare. I feel his warmth from his arms wrapped around my waist, his cheek pressed against my chest. His mouth is hung open slightly, his hair going in a bunch of different directions.
With my fingertips, I trace the outline of his lips, smiling at the way his face twitches from my touch. I move my fingers to his hair to run them through the black, gelled up locks that have always drove me crazy. He's fucking gorgeous. I honestly can't believe that I ever was able to call him mine in the first place. I messed up so badly, yet he's still here waiting for me. I don't get it.
Not being able to help myself, I kiss his forehead and pick my phone back up again. I see a text from Logan apologizing for last night and for me to call him. I don't think he's going to be too pleased about the fact that Xavier and I are friends again. That's a conversation for another time though.
"I don't think that's what friends are supposed to do." He mumbles tiredly, still keeping his eyes closed. His voice is so sexy when he first wakes up. "You're right. You suck at it."
"Shut up." I tease.
He releases me from his grasp so he can stretch his body out in the bed, finally opening his eyes. "Any nightmares?"
I shake my head.
"Good." He tells me. "That was the goal."
I turn onto my side so that I'm facing him, eyeing his bare chest. He must have taken off his t-shirt in the middle of the night. His tattoos are so beautiful. From the cross tattoo in the center of his chest, to the angel and clouds on his bicep, to the bible verse on his side. Everything about him is beautiful as hell.
"It was nice while it lasted." I laugh. "Unfortunately you can't sleep with me every night, Xavier."
"Says who?" He arches his eyebrow up and sends me a sly smile. "If you want me to sleep with you then I'll be here."
"You used to be such a bad boy..." I erupt into laughter when he jokingly tosses a pillow at me. "What happened to him?"
"A certain female." He shrugs.
"Oh, a certain female? And who would that be, Xavier?"
We're so close to each other, and I think he notices because he scans my face quickly before he sits up in the bed. I can tell he's looking for his t-shirt, so I lean over and grab it off of the floor to pass over to him. Why do I find myself wishing that he'd just kiss me already? Is that wrong of me? I just want to feel his lips again.
"Want to grab something to eat?" He asks. I watch the t-shirt slide back around his torso, his gold chain still around his neck. He looks sexy as hell. I don't know if it's from waking up next to him, or finally feeling so happy, but I'm so turned on. I know part of that is my addiction, and I'm trying everything I can to control myself right now.
Instead of acting on the lust, I nod my head and get out of bed so I can go over to the closet to find something to wear. I don't know why I'm trying to impress Xavier since he's literally seen me at my worst and still thought I looked great, but I decide on a floral printed maxi dress, a jean jacket and some white sandals.
