After making sure that Becky was safe in her home, Colby set the car on and drove away. Keeping himself together and not letting Becky know that something was wrong was a real challenge. He didn't want to bother her, and he was afraid of her reaction. From the moment he saw that woman, that followed them his blood was boiling. He drove like a madman, not caring about speed or what the traffic lights showed. The distance that would have taken about 40 minutes if he had been driving according to the rules, now it took about 20. He parked the car and ran to the door. The elavator was busy, so that, without wasting time, he was climbing the stairs to the 4th floor, he open the door of the apartment and shouted:
"Laceyyyyy" he shouted and slammed the door harder as it nearly fell off its hinges.
"What happened? Who made you so angry?" she tried to pat his arm, but he backed away.
"I don't know?! You tell me what's going on?!" she looked at him confused.
"What are you trying to say, I don't understand anything? Sit on the sofa and I'll make you some tea..."
"Are you kidding me..." He ran his fingers through his hair. "What were you thinking when you followed Rebecca Quin? This is illegal. If she could see you...."
"But she didn't see me. All right. Calm down."
"Calm down" he walked back and forth like a caged animal. "...my little sister is playing detective, and I have to pretend that this is normal?" she looked at him, but said nothing. She had never seen him like this. He was like an erupting volcano. "Answer me!" he yelled at her and she jumped.
"I'm not a little girl anymore. While you're busy blaming yourself, I've decided to take action. Our father deserves justice. You said she knew something...."
"This madness ends here and now. I don't want you anywhere near Rebecca."
"And if not?" for the first time in her life, she resisted him, but she was determined to find her father's killer.
"As long as you live in my house, you follow my rules. Am I clear?"
"So be it!" she turned and went into her room. Colby, went to the kitchen and sat down at the empty table, his face in his hands. After a while, he heard the door of Lacey's room open, and he got up to check what was going on. His Sister had a suitcase in her hand.
"Where are you going?" he asked her coldly.
"Somewhere where I won't follow your rules." She put on her sneakers and jacket and then looked at him. "You can even bring her here to fuck her. So I won't bother you."
"Watch your mouth..."
"I saw you on the beach! Did you forget I was there too?"
With these words she left her home. Colby hit the wall with his fist. His knuckles were twitching. "Damn."
Lacey walked alone through the streets of the city in the middle of the night. She had no idea where to go. As she was passing a supermarket, she ran into a customer who had just come out of there.
"Lacey???" Joe looked at her in surprise. "What are you doing here at this time?" he looked down" with the suitcase?"
"I had a fight with Colby."
"But why? What happened?"
"It doesn't matter."
"You're coming to me." he snapped.
"No, I can't." She shook her head.
"We won't argue. If your brother finds out I left you alone, he'll cut my balls." They were both laughing. "Let's go."
