Ashley POV
"Bye, Ashley."
"Bye."I told her and I hung up. Everything is so confusing. We not only have to look for that son of a bitch Freddie, but these visions. I'm worried about Bex. She's like a sister to me, I have no idea how to help her. Our only chance is the books we pulled out of her house. They record the experience of three generations of witches. There must be something about what's going on. I made myself a pot of coffee in preparation for the long and sleepless night that awaits me. There are so many books that I don't even know where to start. I picked up a few of them and brought them to the kitchen table. I opened the first one and started reading it. The pages were running out, and I couldn't find anything. A second book followed... then a third... after several hours of unsuccessful searching and two pots of coffee, I felt my eyes grow heavy and close. I looked at the clock 3 am. I got up from my chair and went to the door of the room. I was just about to turn the light off when something unexpected happened. The pages of one of the unread books I had brought here from the closet began to turn on their own. I went over and saw what was written: "Liberation ritual" so I sat down and started reading again. With every sentence I read, my fears got bigger and bigger.
"A demon that was imprisoned in hell can be returned to Earth through a portal between the two worlds. To open the portal, you must bring 25 human souls to replace the demon. Victims always have eyes and a tongue. Their bodies are almost unrecognizable. Two opposite pentagrams are visible on the wrists. Next to the body of the last 5 victims will be Celtic runes written on the wall in their blood. The portal will open at the scene of the last victim's murder. The demon will be stronger than before."
I'm trying to figure out what Luke looked like at the funeral, but Becky insisted that the coffin be closed. She told me that when she broke into her house that day, Freddie pulled out Luke's eyes. Becky didn't tell me about the body of the girl who was killed in the Park, and the next day she was arrested, and then she was never mentioned. As for the last murder ... it was very bad for us. The pendulum did not want to show us anything, several times it even flew out of my hands. The son of a bitch has learned to hide too well. We arrived at the scene of the crime after the police cordoned off the area. I remember reading an article in an online publication about a serial killer changing his approach, but without any details. I searched the Internet and found an article by an independent journalist about the latest murder. My fears were confirmed. On one of the walls next to the corpse were strange signs, most likely runes. I have to tell Becky as soon as possible. If my accounts are correct, we have 4 weeks before any spawn from Hell returns to Earth.
...
I woke up with pain in my back and neck from the uncomfortable position I was sleeping in. I looked at my watch ... only 7 am. I got up and went to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth, then combed my hair. I went back to the kitchen and made breakfast before going to tell Becky what I'd found. My phone rang. I unlocked it and read a message from Manuel: "Sorry for the early hour, but I thought maybe you could help me purchase new curtains for the apartment. I need a specialist." I smiled and answered quickly. „With pleasure. Around 2 pm?" Soon after, I received a new message "I'll pick you up and we'll go shopping."
Colby POV
I opened my eyes, and the first thing I saw was Becky's beautiful face. A smile shined on my face at the thought that this might be the first thing I would see every morning for the rest of my life. I've never felt this way about a woman. She was lying inches away from me, and having sex with her was the last thing I wanted. She is not a girl for a one night. I think I see her before, but I can't remember where. I reached out and stroked her face. "I promise you, sweetheart, I will make you trust me. You won't be alone anymore." I decided to stay in bed a little longer and look at her. Soon she began to wake up. Our eyes met, and she smiled a little.
