Becky POV
Ashley and I got into her car, we fastened our seat belts, and she started the engine. When we were driving to her house, she started a conversation.
"So you and agent Lopez spent the night together?"
"We just slept in the same bed Ash, nothing more."
"And you think I believed you? I'm not stupid Bex, and I know you very well to know that you wouldn't let him sleep over in your home if you didn't trust him. Especially to sleep in the same room and in the same bed." I rolled my eyes.
"The guest room wasn't fixed and it was too late to make him leave." I explained, trying to stay calm.
"You're just looking for excuses."
"Believe what you want, Ash."
"Bex, seriously, you know, if I want to, I can read your mind."
"Ash, I know very well that you don't always succeed. Especially when you are under the influence of strong emotions."
"Well, I agree that I don't always succeed, but I'm trying to say that I know what he thinks." I gave her a dead glare. "And no, don't look at me like that. I know you don't approve of using our abilities for mere mortals, but I needed to know what his intentions were."
"Ash..."
"Let me finish. Yes, he may be confused by how quickly this is happening between you, but I think he can be trusted. And I think you should tell him the truth as soon as possible. Before you became attached to him, before the fear of losing him, he didn't win you over again." I took a deep breath.
"Maybe you're right, but I don't know how to tell him that without thinking I'm completely insane."
"You will find the right words in your heart." he deserves to hear the truth from you.
"That's easy for you to say. How long was your longest relationship, 2 weeks?" my patience has run out. I know she's trying to help me, but I don't think this is the right time to discuss it.
"Okay, look. It's true that I didn't have a serious boyfriend, but that's because I didn't feel like the right person was up against me. If I fall in love, I won't be able to read the thoughts of the person next to me, you said it yourself, strong feelings get in the way."
"I suggest we change the subject. We need to find the demon."
"Don't think this conversation is over, Bex. But you're right. First we have to get rid of this bastard."

After we arrived, I immediately went to the closet where we had collected my books. I went inside and looked for a certain book.
"Where's my mom's book, Ash?"
"Your mother's book?"
"Yes, it has red covers and a black pentagram."
"I took it to the kitchen last night, but I couldn't start reading it."
"So we're going to the kitchen."
"Wait, explain to me what's on your mind." I continued on my way without answering her, I entered the kitchen and immediately noticed the Red book. I took it out of the bowl and put it on the table. I put my hand over the book, and the pages quickly began to turn. I clenched my hand into a fist and they stopped. I read the title "spiritual connecting.".
"This is what I was looking for. With this ritual I will be able to look through the eyes of Freddie. I will see what he sees. With any luck, we'll find a lead." Ash carefully read what was wrote and looked at me.
