Kyle 🏀

I was finally able to convince Winnie to go to a Baseball game. She ran through at least five outfits before finally deciding on bike shorts and the custom Dodgers jersey that I bought her about a couple weeks back. Her hair was in faux locs again and she was make up free.

I would've bought Violet with us, but I didn't find out until today that her and Ariana were just getting back from Atlanta. Seriously...Atlanta. The other side of the country. And I had no prior knowledge of this. Like really, who does that?

Only Ariana.

"Alright, I'm ready!!" Winnie exclaims, walking down the stairs.

"You sure?" I tease. "Because the game starts at 1:05 and it's going on 12:30 as we speak."

She rolls her eyes at me. "Let's go before we're even more late with your lecturing."

I squint my eyes. "It's called rushing."

"Well whatever it is, it's going to make us later." She exclaims, walking to the front door.

I trail behind her and we get into my Range.

"You sure I look okay?" She asks once we're settled in the car.

"Yes babe, you look fine." I reply, starting the car.

She adjusts her shades in the sun visor mirror before pushing it back up. I just chuckle and shake my head before backing out of the driveway.

As soon as we're inside of Dodger Stadium, Winnie and I are escorted to our seats. Which are right behind the plate, second row.

"I would've did first row, but I figured you'd be too scared to sit there, being that it's your first game and all." I shrug.

Winnie giggles. "I've been to a Baseball game before Kyle."

"Then why'd it take so much convincing for you to agree to come to this one?" I ask.

"Because I wanted to see how long it would take before you gave up." She grinned. "And seeing that you're so persistent, I had no choice but to say yes."

Ain't that some shit?

I just blink. "Next time I won't ask."

"If I suggest it, would you say yes?" She asked.

"I don't know, I might have to think about it." I joke halfheartedly. Ariana would've jumped on this in no time; she's a moderate sports fan.

Winnie laughed at my answer, not knowing that I was half serious. We watched the team warm up before taking the field. Today they were playing the Minnesota Twins.

After the Dodgers got the three outs and were switching to bat, I ran to the concession stand to get us a beer. While I did that, Winnie ordered food for us from the caterers.

I got back in time to see one of our guys hit a home run. Everyone in the ballpark screamed and cheered as he rounded the bases.

"What did I miss?" I ask, handing Winnie her beer.

"Well, before that guy hit a home run, there was 2 outs with a guy on the second base I think. Then this guy just hit a home run and scored the guy in. The Dodgers lead 0 to 2." She explained.

So she paid attention as I explained the game to her while the team was playing defense. Interesting.

After the 3rd out, we watched the teams switch sides again. It is now top of the second inning.
