Kyle 🏀

Violet's second birthday is next Monday. In honor of that, we started celebrating a week early. Right now we're at the zoo. She wanted to see animals today, so that's what we're doing. She's really not hard to please, but I have a feeling that as she gets older we're gonna have a lot more to worry about. I had her on my shoulders as we looked at the Giraffes; they're her favorite animal.

"Look at the baby Giraffe Vi." Ari pointed out.

I grin. The both of them were memorized to see the giraffes and it was quite a sight. I have something for Ari later, so stay tuned.

The three of us decided to match today, but that's only because we just finished taking family photos. On Wednesday, we're gonna have professional photos taken of Violet. Ari says it's because she wants to add it to Violet's scrapbook. To be honest, I didn't even know she had a scrapbook.

We moved along throughout the zoo, taking pictures of the animals and Violet in front of the exhibits. The day was going pretty good so far.

"It's a sign." Ari says.

"What is?" I ask, looking down at her.

She holds up her Polaroid. "I ran out of film."

I laugh. "And you didn't think to bring extra?"

"I didn't expect to take these many pictures." She huffs.

I shake my head and snicker at her while she puts it away. Violet held onto my leg, looking around curiously.

"How long have we been here?" Ari asks.

"Since 9AM." I check the time on my phone. "It's 12:30 now."

"Okay. How about we go grab some lunch? I'm starving." She says, rubbing her small belly. She was starting to show a little more.

I pick up Violet and carry her on my left side, then grab Ari's hand and lace our fingers together with my right. The three of us began our walk out of the zoo, getting bombarded by fans asking for autographs and pictures. I could feel Violet's grip on the neckline of my shirt tighten, which meant she was scared.

"Hey guys, I can't right now. I'm sorry." I apologize to the fans, who had stopped our exit.

I reach for Ari to bring her in front of me, then I switch Violet to my right side. We continue to make our way out to my car, trying to get out of here as fast as we can.

Why are so many people at the zoo on a Monday? Don't they have anything better to do?

"I'm glad we went early, because that could've been a lot more worse." I say once we're all settled in the car.

Ari nods in agreement and I look back at Violet through the rear view.

"You okay Vi?" I ask.

She nods.

"Okay, good." I reply, pulling out of our parking spot.

That's all that matters.

After having lunch at a diner, we were finally back at the house. Ari was in the kitchen cleaning up a bit, while Violet and I were in her room. I was adjusting the customized shirt I got her a while back.

"Wow, this is really happening." I take a deep breath.

Violet looks at me in confusion and I pick her up. I kiss her cheek and make my way downstairs to the kitchen, where Ari is sitting at the counter scrolling through her phone.
