From the looks of it, they made it work. And I'm so glad they did. Happiness is really all I want for them.
I push Violet's stroller through the Atlanta International Airport. She slept the entire plane ride, which I am incredibly thankful for. The only time she woke up was for a snack or something to drink. Other than that, baby girl did great.
We eventually reach my mother. She beams at us as I push Violet toward her and carry our duffel on my left shoulder.
"Look at my girls." She exclaimed, kneeling down to kiss Violet on the cheeks. Violet giggles and shy's away. She then stands back up to hug me. "Welcome home honey."
"Thanks mom." I sigh into her shoulder.
I need this week off as a vacation. I've done nothing but write and sing. So busy keeping myself busy, I haven't even had time to stress. I don't even know the definition of the word anymore.
We get into the car and are headed to the house. When we get to the house, I take Violet up to the guest room, where I decide for us to stay for the week. Mom insists on my room, but I tell her the guest room is bigger. Violet and I cannot fit on that twin bed. We can, but I'm not taking any chances.
Once we're settled in, I carry her downstairs with me to the kitchen. Mom is in there making a grilled cheese sandwich because Violet made it known that she was hungry.
"So what brings you here my child?" She asks, cutting the sandwich into squares.
"I just need some time away from L.A., that's all." I reply.
"Does this stem from a deeper reasoning?" She inquires.
"Maybe it does." I shrug.
She places the plate in front of me. "Is it Kyle?"
I frown and she sighs. I sit Violet down on the high chair beside me, setting her plate and juice before her. While she ate, we talked.
