Ariana 💕

I shift the mirror to the left a little bit and smile in content. Kyle and I were able to finish the nursery last night. Then this morning, he was on his way to Staples. The Lakers play the Rockets this afternoon and I'm sad I can't be there. I have to be here taking care of Violet and my unborn twins. Both who were quite active today.

Violet and I were sitting on the couch waiting on the game to start. She was sitting between my legs while I was doing her hair. So much hair at her age, it's crazy.

"You wanna go with daddy Thursday?" I ask her. She nods. "Okay."

Thursday they play the Oklahoma City Thunder, and I figure instead of her being locked up in the house with me she can go to the game with Kyle. She'll be under the watchful eye of Leon because Kyle can't watch her while he's playing ball.

She sat with Goodnight Moon in her lap while I finished up with her hair. I had did two half braids at the front of her head, then left the rest of her hair out in its natural curls. I really can't get enough of these curls.

"Who told your daddy to have such good hair, huh?" I joke.

She shrugs, turning the page in the book. It's one of those children books that I had when I was younger. I'm surprised I was able to find it; it's such a classic.

I'm sure she doesn't understand a single word in there right now, but she likes to point out objects in the pictures and sound them out. We've been helping her a lot in terms of reading and spelling. Sounds, images, and numbers. She learns very fast and very well.

Bye age 4, she'll be speaking in full sentences. Some of her letters will be mixed up, as expected, but we'll be able to understand exactly what it is she's saying.

My baby girl isn't going to be a baby anymore.

About two hours later, it's the last quarter of the game. Let me tell you, this game was too dope. Houston knows how to fight, and that's what they've done all game. But as soon as AD started to get heated, there was no telling him nothing. He shot 20 for 20 so far since the start of the second quarter. Has 8 blocks and 10 rebounds.

Kyle did just as good. He went 13 for 15, with 3 assists, 4 blocks and 6 rebounds.

Them boys are doing the damn thing.

Violet was just interested in seeing her dada on TV. Whenever they showed him, she reached for him. Like right now.

"Daddy!" She points at him.

"Yes baby, that's dada." I grin.

After they took the camera off him, she laid her head on my lap. I smile, caressing her cheek softly. I literally cannot wait to see how she is years from now. Will she still look like Kyle? Will she still be a daddy's girl? So many questions. So long until I get those answers.

We continue watching the game, cheering on the Lakers as they maneuver their way toward a win.

I'm really proud of how far they've come.

"Hey!" Kyle exclaims. "Wow, did you get bigger?"

I frown and he winces.

"I completely did not mean it like that baby." He said.

I shake my head as he walks over to me, planting a kiss on my forehead. He squats down in front of me.

"How was your day?" He asked.

"It was pretty good." I say. "Congrats on the win."

"Thank you." He grinned.

He helps me up off the couch and I wobble in the direction of the stairs.

"I don't know how to feel about you being anywhere near these stairs." Kyle exclaims.

"But you're here with me for support." I say.

"I know I am. But now that the season is starting and you're getting closer to your due date, I won't be here as much." He said.

I sigh, walking up the stairs slowly. He was right behind me to make sure I didn't fall backwards. I groan at the pain I feel in my lower back. One of the boys were moving and it was causing slight discomfort.

"What's wrong?" Kyle asked.

I wince in pain. "One of the boys are moving."

He placed his hand on my lower back. "Right there?"

I nod, biting my lower lip. He rubs small circles to soothe the pain. I grip the railing, waiting for the pain to subside.

Once it does, I'm making my way up the rest of the stairs and to our bedroom. Kyle sets up the pregnancy pillow and I lay down.

"I'm gonna go shower real quick. I'll be right back." He said, kissing my forehead.

I nod and he leaves the room. I take this time to adjust myself and find a more comfortable position.

About half an hour later, Kyle is coming back into the room. He was only wearing a pair of basketball shorts.

"How are you feeling?" He asked.

"Not so good." I frown.

He gives a small smile then joins me in bed, kissing my cheek gently. He then places his hand on my stomach and rubs small circles on it.

"I can order something for dinner." He said. "Tell me what you want and you got it."

I sigh. "I don't really know. Since the back pains started, I haven't been as hungry."

"When did they start?" He asked.

"Toward the very end of the game." I reply.

"Aww, my baby." He coos.

I giggle, shaking my head at him.

"And where's Violet? She's a little too quiet." He said.

"I think she's in her room." I move a strand of hair behind my ear. "I told her she could go with you on Thursday. I don't think she's too fond of seeing you on TV and not being able to hug you."

He chuckles. "Aww, she is daddy's little girl."

"Indeed." I playfully roll my eyes.

He smiles.

"I assume daddy will be taking her to prom as well." I grin.

"I assume so."

"With her though, she's growing up so fast." I frown. "She won't like being smothered anymore."

He continues rubbing my stomach. He never stopped actually.

"We'll let her explore the world on her own. And in the time that she does, she will make the decision on her own." He said. "We'll always be here for her, obviously. But she's going to break out of her cocoon eventually and become a butterfly."

"You and your metaphors." I laugh. "When did you become so metaphorical?"

He shrugs. "Sometimes I like to make myself sound smart."

He definitely isn't lying about that.
