Kyle 🏀
The 2021-2022 NBA season is nearing its start. Ariana is just under 7 months of pregnancy and she's not having it. I can't tell you the countless amount of times she has cursed me out in the last two days alone. I know not to take it personal because she obviously doesn't mean to. I just let her go on with her rants because it's what makes her feel better.
I found myself at the gym today, putting up shots and dunking like my life depended on it. I just want to work on some things before the season begins. I'm actually pretty pumped for it. Last year we won the championship and this year we're going back.
A few hours pass before I'm on my way back home. The last thing I wanted was to get caught up in traffic and be getting home at 7:30 instead of 6 like I planned to. And right now...it's 5:27.
You can't make this shit up.
At exactly 5:53, I'm pulling into the driveway. Seven minutes before the designated time that I chose to be back home. Soon as I open the door, the dogs come charging in my direction.
"What's up girls!" I exclaim, kneeling down to them as they hop around me.
I stand up and head toward the kitchen.
"Something smells good in here." I say, placing my keys on the counter.
"It's my chicken Parmesan." Ari said, cutting up the broccoli on the cutting board.
"It smells great baby." I exclaim, leaning over the back of her to kiss her cheek.
I don't know how I feel about her using that giant steak knife to cut up the broccoli.
"You want me to finish this and you deal with the chicken?" I ask.
"I got it though." She said.
"I know you do." I kiss her cheek again. "But I want you to be safe."
She looks up at me. "You should go shower first. You smell."
I chuckle. "I appreciate the honesty."
She grins and I kiss her nose.
"Put that down. I'll do it when I get back." I say, walking toward the living room.
"Okay." She replied.
I look over the back of the couch, where Violet sits with her headset on and her tablet in her lap. I softly pinch her right cheek and she giggles, turning to face me.
"Dada!!" She says.
"Hi baby girl." I smile.
She stands up on the couch, then on her tip toes to kiss me. I tap her butt lightly and she sits back down. I head upstairs to shower and change into something a little more comfortable.

When I got back downstairs, I was glad to find that Ari actually left the broccoli to me.
"She listens?" I tease, walking into the kitchen.
"I'll go cut that broccoli up right now." She teased back.
I chuckle, walking over to the counter. She was at the stove, mixing the mashed potatoes.
I cut up the broccoli, then make my way over to the stove with it. I slide it off the cutting board and into the pot of boiling water. Then I put the cover over it to let it cook.
"Was that so hard?" I poke at her.
"Yes, it was." She swats my hand away.
I grin, putting the cutting board into the sink along with the steak knife. I watch as she moves to get the chicken out the oven.
