Ariana 💕

Last night, at around 11PM, I was admitted into the hospital because I started having contractions. All twenty minutes apart.

I called Kyle when they started, but he didn't pick up. He's in San Francisco for a game against the Golden State Warriors tonight so he was definitely sleep around the time I called. The game starts at 7:30 today. It's currently 3:45PM and I'm only 5 centimeters dilated.

"Why did they put me through all of this, only for me to be laying in the bed and they're not here?" I ask no one in particular.

Sydney and Violet are in the room with me. She's on my phone watching Elmo.

Sydney shrugs at my comment. "Maybe they're not ready yet."

"I'm gonna need them to be because we're not doing this back and forth shit." I exclaim.

Right as I say that, I feel another contraction. I whimper, clutching onto the bed rail. It bypasses quickly and I'm cool again.

"Why don't you just get the epidural Ari?" Sydney asked.

"I didn't have it with Violet." I wince, adjusting myself against the pillows to a more comfortable position.

"Don't you think you should get it now being that your contractions are starting to become a little more frequent?" She suggests.

I wince again. "Nope."

I close my eyes, taking deep breaths as I start to feel more pressure on my lower abdomen.

"Ari?" I hear.

"I'm okay Sydney." I heave.

I grip onto the bed rail again, waiting for the contraction to bypass. This one lasts a little longer than I would like and I'm almost pressured into asking for the epidural, but I can do this. Pain and all.

The pain lessens and I breathe out in relief. "See?"

She shakes her head at me. "If that happens again, I'm calling the doctor and she's giving you that shot. Whether you like it or not."

I cut my eyes at her, then lay my head against the pillow. I close my eyes again and sigh.

I'm halfway to sleep when I feel another contraction hit. And this one was strong.

"Oh my God!" I scream, squeezing the bed rail.

Sydney runs to the door. "Nurse!"

"No!" I gasp out.

She ignores my request, flagging down a nurse anyway. I purse my lips as tears run down my cheeks.

"Mama!" I hear.

I'm in too much pain to pay attention to it, but I will reassure her later on that I am okay.

"Ms. Williamson." The nurse says, coming to my bedside.

I grip her scrubs in my hand tightly. "Call my husband NOW!"

She nods vigorously and I let her go, allowing her to run out of the room.

"UGH!" I slam my head into the pillow.

This was much more easier with one baby. But two? Hell no.

About five minutes later, the nurse is entering the room again. By then the pain had subsided, but I don't get too excited because I know I'm due for another surge soon.

"He said he'll be here shortly." She said.

I nod. "I'm sorry for scaring you."

"No worries." She chuckled nervously. She must be one of the newbies.
