"We want to come back."
A few seconds of silence filled the room that made each girl's nerves intensify.
"Girls," Their old manager started, "You know it's not that easy. You would need contracts, music, a stable fanbase."
"We still have our old songs we could start with until we write new ones, plus we our fans are still active," Jesy said.
"Please," Perrie practically pleaded.
Their old manager turned to look at the representatives from the label, who mouthed a few things and passed her a paper. She read the paper before nodding slightly.
"Okay, we can offer you a one album contract and see where it goes from there?"
Grins spread across each of the girl's faces.
"Yes, please," Leigh-Anne said enthusiastically.
"Sign here, and we have a deal," she said smiling brightly as she slid them each a contract.
Each girl signed the document and handed the papers back to her. She thanked them before leaving the room with the other table members, leaving just the group in the meeting room.
"Wow, it's actually happening!" Jade said grinning.
"I know, it's insane," Leigh-Anne said, still in a little shock.
***
"Leigh and Jade, where are you staying? You don't still have houses here do you?" Jesy asked as the girls walked out to their cars.
"No, but my sister doesn't live too far from here so I'm just going to crash with her until I find something," Leigh-Anne said unlocking her car.
"Jade?" Jesy asked, noticing the girl hadn't spoken up.
Jade shrugged.
"I dunno, I guess just a hotel until I find an apartment or something."
"What? No, don't do that," Perrie said, overhearing the conversation.
"Why not? Besides, I don't have anywhere else to go."
Perrie looked at the brunette happily.
"Stay with me? I have extra rooms and Alex is out at the Manchester house for training so I'm alone."
"Are you sure, Pez? I don't want to burden you, especially now that there's another person," she said quietly as she motioned to Ella who was consumed with her stuffed animal.
"Of course, Jade."
Jade nodded.
"Okay."
"Yes!" Perrie said with enthusiasm.
***
"So," Perrie said as she entered the spare room that Ella was sleeping in. "How's it feel being back in London?"
Jade looked from the little girl's suitcase and shrugged.
"It's definitely weird. There's so many memories here, some I want to remember and some I don't."
"I get that," Perrie said as she sat down on the bed. She thought about the heartbreak Jade had experienced here as well as some other unhappy memories.
"I think that's why I was so excited to move to America. And as much as I grew to love London and South Shields, it was a fresh start. But now I just have bad memories associated there too," the brunette said shrugging as she folded one of Ella's shirts and stuck it into a drawer.
"And some good ones too," Perrie added, motioning to the bubbly three year old who was coloring in her coloring book across the room.
Jade smiled as she watched her daughter color in silence.
"Yeah, there is."
Jade continued unpacking the little girl's clothes until the suitcase was empty. Perrie sat on the bed near Jade still chatting from earlier.
"Alright Ella, your room is ready!" Jade said happily as she stood up from the floor.
Ella looked across the room at the brunette before she stood up and walked over to where Jade was.
"I stay here?" she asked curiously.
"Yeah, you'll stay in here and I'll be in the room next door."
Ella curled into Jade.
"I don't wanna stay here without you," she whimpered.
"Aw sweetheart, how about I stay with you the first night and then you sleep by yourself after that?" the brunette said brushing Ella's curls out of her face.
The girl nodded and started skipping around the room, looking at the decor and taking in her new environment.
Perrie watched the little girl happily as Jade sat down on the bed next to her.
"This is so strange."
Jade laughed at Perrie's statement.
"What is?"
"Just you having a kid, us coming back. It's all surreal."
Jade smiled and pulled the blonde into a tight hug.
***
Perrie and Jade ordered takeout for dinner. Perrie was now cleaning up while Jade got Ella ready for bed.
Ella took a liking to Perrie after the blonde suggested watching Tangled before bed, making Jade's heart melt at the sight of one of her best friend's bonding with her daughter.
Jade and Ella emerged from the bedroom just as Perrie put the last dish in the dishwasher. They all gathered to the couch, Ella making her way in between Jade and Perrie.
"Oh wait, I'm going to make us tea. Ella do you want some hot chocolate?" Perrie asked looking at Jade for approval, sighing in relief when Jade nods.
"Yes please," the little girl said.
Perrie walked to the kitchen and started the kettle. Luckily, the kitchen opened up to the living room so they could still continue their conversations as she got up.
"Mammy?" Ella asked once there was a break in the conversation.
"Yes love?"
"How long are we here?"
"Um, I'm not sure babe. A long time though."
Ella frowned.
"I miss home," the little girl said as she crawled into Jade's lap.
"I know you do, but we are going to have a new home here in London."
"No more America?"
"Not anytime soon."
"So I'm never going to meet Daddy?" the three-year-old asked sadly.
Jade's heart skipped at beat.
"Um, I-I don't know El," the brunette said, doing her best to hold back her tears.
The little girl nodded and laid her head onto Jade's lap and closed her eyes.
Perrie returned with their tea which she set on the table infront of them as well as Ella's hot chocolate in case she still wants it if she wakes up soon.
After setting down their drinks, the blonde walked behind the couch and wrapped her arms around her friend. Jade relaxes into Perrie's arms and wipes away the stray tear rolling down her cheek.
"She'll be okay babe," Perrie whispers before kissing the top of Jade's head. The brunette nods and strokes Ella's hair gently as Perrie starts the movie.
