"Hey, I just met you and this is crazy
But here's my number, so call me maybe"
Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe"What's this?" she asks after I hand back the post it note. "My number..." I tell her as I watch her get up from her seat. I hope I'm making the right move here. She looks down at the paper once again. "And your address?"
"You might need it one day..." I say, trying to make it sound like I know what I'm doing. I don't know why I wrote down my address...it seemed like a good idea at the time...sort of. She looks at me in disbelief, "I highly doubt that." she says confidently, as she walks down the aisle towards the front of the bus. I smirk as I look over to the seat across from me and see the book she left behind on the seat next to her.
"Hey!" I call out as she walks down the steps. Before she leaves, she looks up to see me standing up from my seat. "Just text me." I tell her with a smile. I'm usually not the one to make the first move...or any move for that manner, but better late than never right? Speaking of late, it's almost midnight, so I'm hoping no one in the house is awake. A couple stops later, I finally get to mine. I take her book in my hand before getting up. I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket as I get off the bus.

make sure you're home tmrwI really hope this is her, if not, then I'm scared. I text her back, seeing if it's really her. Lucky for me, it is. A smile immediately appears on my face as I declare victory to myself. She's a lot more outspoken over text, but in a good way. It's really fun talking to her. I still can't over the fact that she actually texted me.
I finally get home, unlocking the front door and welcoming myself inside. I walk into an empty house, almost all the lights off. I'm surprised no one's here to interrogate me about my date. Usually after a date, I have a line of interviewers, or better known as my friends, with a million questions. I turn on the lights for the kitchen/living room area to see Daniel, Jonah, Zach, and Jack seated on our couch, all their eyes on me. "Holy crap!" I yell, nearly jumping at the sight of all of them. "Quarter to midnight Matthew, new record." Daniel says, checking his imaginary watch. Since when does he call people by their middle name? I walk over to them, throwing my suit jacket and the book onto the arm chair. "Okay, this is a new level of crazy." And just as I expected, the interrogation begins.
"So how'd it go?" Daniel asks first. He's always the first one to start the questions.
"Was it better than the last date?" Zach asks after with slight hope in his voice. At least I know they mean well.
"What'd you guys eat?" Jack asks. I just look at him and chuckle. I can't wait for them to hear the chocolate lava cake story.
"Do you think there'll be another date?" Jonah asks, finishing off the first round of questions. I sit back into the armchair, not even trying to contain the smile on my face. They all exchange looks at each other, one more excited than the other. "He's smiling." I hear Jack whisper to Daniel. "I know, he's usually tired after a date." Daniel whispers back. "Do you guys think it went well?" Zach asks, still whispering. They do know I can hear them right? "He hasn't answered us yet." Jonah says, joining in with their whispers.
"You guys suck at whispering you know that right?" I tell them, chuckling a bit. They all look at each other, then back at me, waiting to hear my answers to their questions. "So, are you gonna tell us how the date went?" Daniel asks, speaking on behalf of all of them.
"Well, I'll start off by saying...I'm not going on anymore blind dates." A hopeful look on each of their faces instantly appear. "The date was that good?" Jonah asks with a shock in his voice.
"No. No it wasn't. It wasn't good at all." I say emotionless, causing them to have a confused look. "Then why are we stopping blind dates?" Zach asks, a little more confused than the rest.
"Oh I get it." Daniel says, I look at him, surprised. "You do?"
"Yes, I do." he continues, we all look at him to hear what he has to say. "He needs a change for once, blind dating ain't the way to go. I suggest Tinder." he says. Before all the other guys believe him, I try to shut down the suggestion.
"No no no no that's not what I'm saying. I don't need to go on any more blind dates 'cause..." At this point I'm a little stuck on what to say. I met a girl on the bus 'cause my car got towed and I think there's something there. Yeah, I don't think that sounds right. Now that I remember, I should probably find my car. It's not like I can tell them, "Oh hey, I met this girl on the bus and gave her my number and our address." That will definitely not go well with them. Maybe if I slowly fall asleep they'll leave me alone...is it sad that I'm considering that now?
"Corbyn!" Jack says, bringing me out of my thoughts. I look at all them, slowly getting my words out. "I...I may have met this girl after the date..."
"After? As in, she's not the girl you went on the date with?" Daniel asks. I nod my head for clarification. "Well that was unexpected." he says in shock, sitting back against the couch. "Well, how'd you meet her?" Zach asks, starting the new round of questions.
"What's her name?" Jack asks after, Jonah following after him. "Does she know who you are?"
"Which of one of your 'groups' is she in?" Daniel then asks. I'm surprised he asked that since no one else knows about the groups I made for my dates. I've never thought about what group Lara would be in, maybe 'cause I just met her.
"Um well, we met on the bus, her name is Lara, she only knows my first name, and she isn't in any group yet 'cause I haven't gone on a date with her and goodnight." I spit out quickly, hoping my words mushed together to the point where they couldn't understand me. I don't think I'm ready to hear what they have to say about Lara. They'll probably ask me where my common sense went and tell me that it was a waste of time and that I should've used my head in this situation. I mean, what are the chances that we'll actually keep in touch after tomorrow? As soon as I say that, I get up and go to my room as fast as possible before I can hear their input. I'll hear their opinions tomorrow.
Right, tomorrow.
Everything will be sorted out tomorrow, and everything will be fine. No need to worry...Right?
