"And here's the combination to the safe in the closet
It's all yours if you say that you want it"
Nothing But You - The Vamps"Good morning Rose." Daniel said as he opened the door to Corbyn's bedroom.
The tired brunette laughed at the nickname Daniel had for her since the day they became friends. "Good morning to you too James." Lara replied as she finished making the bed.
Daniel took a seat on the bed, already messing up the perfect covers Lara smoothed down just seconds ago. Lara looked at the dirty blonde boy with a confused expression, "Something on your mind?"
Daniel looked up and shook his head, "What? No, everything's fine."
"Then no offense, but what are you doing here Daniel?" she laughed.
He looked up, "Oh well you see..." the boy tried to think of a reason, all he was doing was stalling time until Corbyn had the brains to come upstairs and talk to her. "Oh! Well I-I was gonna ask you to maybe...help me ask Mia out?"
As the words escaped Daniel's mouth, Lara couldn't help but drop her jaw. She ran over to him and sat down next to him, "You're serious? You're actually gonna do this?!" she paused and tilted her head, "Wait you haven't done this yet? I swear you two act like you've been dating for months."
"No we haven't said anything yet," Daniel laughed nervously, "So will you help me?" This certainly wasn't part of my schedule today, he thought, but now or never right?
"Of course I'll help! Mia loves you." Lara says, quickly stopping herself after. "Not that she told me," the brunette panicked for she knew Mia was gonna kill her if she found out, "She really likes you is what I meant to say."
"Well I really like her too." Daniel smiled, pretending he didn't hear what Lara first said. Even he knew the power of Mia's wrath.
"Anyways," Lara began, trying to forget she didn't just expose her best friend, "What did you have in mind?"
The two got to brainstorming and working, moving from different places in the room. Lara got to book a place at Mia's favorite restaurant on Corbyn's computer while Daniel did the creative, personal stuff. They even ate Corbyn's stash of tour snacks he got from fans across the world for breakfast.
"Daniel."
Daniel looked up from his phone where he was writing down a list of supplies they needed to buy at the craft store, "Yeah?"
"Christina stayed the night didn't she." Lara said as she spun around in Corbyn's gaming chair.
Panicked, Daniel didn't feel like lying, "Yeah, how'd you know?"
Lara lightly laughed, "It was 2am, Corbyn wouldn't let anyone go out that late."
"Right." suddenly Daniel felt a little guilty for accusing Corbyn of doing anything, but he still wasn't sure. But the obvious thing was how oblivious Lara was to the whole thing.
"Have you ever thought about going back to brown?" she asked him, randomly changing the topic.
"No, why?"
"Oh just 'cause Mia really liked the brown..." Lara mentioned.
"Oh." the boy said, slowly considering changing it for fun.
Seeing his reaction, Lara couldn't help but laugh, "I'm messing with you, she loves the blonde."
"You're annoying." Daniel joked as he threw a candy bar from London at her.
"Has Corbyn ever dyed his hair?" she asked.
"Other than the blonde, no." Daniel told her. This got Lara's mind thinking. "You don't think he would..."
The girl shrugged, "Who knows what he's thinking these days." she said. Daniel froze, even though she didn't know it, those words meant deeper than she could ever imagine it would.
"Daniel."
"Yeah Lar?"
Lara got up from the gamer's chair and sat back on the bed, crisscrossing her legs, "When you're done stalling and keeping me here, can you help me convince Corbyn to dye his hair?"
Daniel got up and looked at the girl, shocked, "I wasn't stalling."
"Yes you were." she laughed, "Unless you're done stalling. I just wanna go outttt." she whined.
"Fine," Daniel said as he went to the door, "I was stalling but at least I got something out of it." he admitted, pleased that he now had a plan to ask Mia out.
"Yeah yeah, you mess it up with my Mia and I'll mess up your face." Lara told him as the two went downstairs.
"Well there you two are." Jonah said as Daniel and Lara walked into the kitchen. Lara was still in Corbyn's hoodie and the clothes from the day before and in a desperate need for a shower.
"Hello to you too." Daniel responded, while Lara went straight to Corbyn.
She wrapped her arms around his neck while he put his around her waist, holding her close. Even while sitting down on the island stool, Lara was barely his height. "Good morning." she said.
"Good morning princess." he responded, Jonah's words still haunting him from before. Although, Lara didn't have a clue what was going on in that mind of his.
She hopped onto his lap, reaching for the plate of toast in the center of the table. "I have a question." the brunette began, Corbyn's heart started to race.
"Yes?"
"Have you ever thought about going brunette?" she asked him, taking a bite of her toast. It wasn't the question Corbyn was expecting, but it surprisingly pleased him.
"No, why?"
"No reason." Lara told him simply, although the thought did linger in his mind longer than expected.
As promised, Daniel helped encourage the idea, "I think it'd look sick." he said.
Jonah nodded in agreement, "Yeah it'd be cool for a change." Corbyn looked at the three of them and thought about it.
It would get my mind off Christina for a while.
"What are we waiting for?"
