"I never should have invited you..." Lara says as she looks at the ground. She sits across from me, closing the textbook in hand. I don't understand...I thought things were going good. She walks towards the front door and opens it, her hand motioning me out. "This was a mistake...Goodbye Corbyn." She says, closing the door after I walk out.

I'm left at her driveway, disappointed. Looks like my car got towed again. Great, just great. Just then, another car pulls up in front of her house. "You need a ride, Connor?" You have to be kidding me. This again? Unfortunately, I ended up taking her offer...what was her name again? Teagan? Megan? I think it was Megan...I look at the passenger seats behind me and see another guy. I- is this Ryan the ex? What the actual...

"Corbyn!" I hear someone yell in my face. "Corbyn wake up!" I open my eyes to see Zach, shaking me aggressively. Oh thank goodness, it was just a dream. A very weird dream. "He's awake!" Zach yells. I think he forgot he was still near me...a moment of silence for my ears.

"Finally!" Jonah says. I see him walk into my room with Daniel who has his laptop in hand. He takes a seat on my bed, nearly crushing my legs. "What's going on?" I ask, slowly becoming more awake. I rub my eyes as I see Jonah, Jack, Zach, and Daniel all in my room. "Um...do you need something?"

"More like you need something." Jack says, even though he's half asleep himself as he leans against the door frame. I look at them confused. "Which is?"

"You need us." Zach says. Aww that's sweet, but I kinda knew that...I think. "What he means is, you need our help." Jonah says as he takes a sip from his coffee. Must be nice being a morning person. "I need help? Help with what?" I sit up, trying to look at what Daniel's doing on the laptop. Why do I already have a feeling that this was his idea...

"Help with studying." Daniel says as he hands me his laptop. I look at the screen to see 20 tabs open with different Quizlets and websites. "Studying?" I look at all of them confused.

"Dude, you're going to Lara's house to help her study. You can't go there on an empty brain." Daniel says, patting my shoulder. They all follow him out of my room. "So what? I'm supposed to read all this?" I yell, but no one answers. I guess that's a yes...

I look at all the tabs that Daniel pulled up on his laptop. There is no way I'm gonna read all of this. I close his laptop, taking it with me as I go downstairs. "I won't be needing this." I say as I give Daniel back his laptop. They all look at me confused.

"Okay Corbyn we get it, you're smart. You're basically our own Google, but no need to rub it in." Jack says. I laugh as I get my breakfast. "I'm not rubbing it in, don't worry."

"So you're just gonna wing it?" Zach asks. I point to him, nodding my head. "Exactly." I see Daniel and Jonah look at each other, unsure how to react. "Wing it? For real?" Daniel asks.

"Corbyn you didn't go to college." Jonah says. I look at him, "Jonah none of us went to college."

"I know that, but how are you supposed to help a college student if you've never been one?" Oh Jonah, how you worry. "Like I said..." I look at Zach, waiting for him to finish my sentence. "He's gonna wing it." Zach says, happy he finished the sentence correctly. I watch Jonah sigh while Daniel gives me the 'are you sure?' look. I don't understand the fuss. It's not like it's their date. Not saying that this is a real date...I'm just helping out like a good friend. Ouch, did I just friendzone myself? But it's not like I have anything to worry about...I'm gonna wing it.
