CHAPTER THIRTEEN

“Here we are.” Greyson announced after a long ride from the movie. He got down first and walked over to open my door for me.

“Sunshine and City Lights.” I read the restaurant name. “Hey, it’s one of your songs!”

Grinning, he took my hand and walked in. “A table for two please?”

The monochrome decor and atmospheric lighting draws a fashionable crowd to this sophisticated restaurant. Gaze out at stunning views of the seaside. A elegant black piano stood majestically at the middle of the restaurant.

When I passed by a mirror, I quickly check on myself, afraid I appear to be unable to fit in this beautiful place, thankfully, I wore a baby pink flora dress with nude flats, which is simple yet fancy enough.

“You look gorgeous.” Greyson told me as he squeezed my hand before letting go my hand.

“Jeez,…” I mumbled as we sat down. We had a corner table at a private corner in the restaurant. Perfect.

“May I have your order please?” an auburn hair waitress asked us, but looking at Greyson only, batting her fake eyelashes and trying to attract his attention with her overly make-up eyes. “What would you like to have?” Greyson asked me.

“Erm,.. fish and chips?” I answered.

“Alright then, we’ll have two sets of fish and chips.” Greyson told the waitress with a smile, I can tell that she’ll go pretty much tipsy.

“Oooh-kaayy. Anything elseeee?” the waitress asked again, flirting in a vain attempt. I almost gagged.

“Um, no thanks.” Greyson replied politely.

“Oh boy, nobody can resist you.” I pointed out as the waitress lest, not forgetting to throw him a wink .

“Why, my princess is jealous! “ he teased, leaning forward to touch my face and I pouted.

“Oh, my princess is just so cute.” He said again and I giggled.

“You should stop dazzling people, you killed a whole lot of people that way you know?” I quoted.

“Hey, I did not!” he protested. Yep, he didn’t, he doesn’t need to, people just get dazzled.

Our gazed locked together, fingers entwined; none of us spoke for a full minute. God, I could really stare into his eyes forever, they seemed to be talking to me, without needing any words, after all, words are nothing unless you put life into them. Then, our food arrived, which pulled me out from wondering in his soulful eyes.

“Destiny, do you like it here?” he asked, which seemed to be stupid, how can I not? this place is amazing, the atmosphere, the food, the service, everything. What’s more, Greyson is here with me.

“Of course I do Grey. I like everywhere and anywhere as long as you’re with me.”

“Gee, I love you.” A bashful smile formed on his handsome face.

“I love you too.” I grinned

“ I love you more.” His smile turned into a smug.

“I love you, as much as you love me.” I laughed. This is funny, we’re actually comparing our love? We love a love, more than love. J

“And now, shall we eat?” he reminded, I almost forgotten that our fish and chips are waiting for us to dig in since ages. I smiled to myself, remembering that I’ve read something that says lovers just stare at each other in a restaurant, until their food went cold. So true.

“Now, wait here,” he said as we finished our meal. He went and said something to the waitress. I had no idea what je was trying to do, but I just had that tingling sense of ecstatic and excitement brewing inside me. The waitress nodded with a smile and Greyson walked to the piano.

“Oh, her eyes, her eyes / Make the stars look like they're not shinin' / Her hair, her hair / Falls perfectly without her trying / She's so beautiful / And I tell her everyday / Yeahh..”

Before I knew it, he was singing and playing my favorite song by Bruno Mars. Although it’s an old song already, still, I love the lyrics to bits, they always seemed beautiful and would be a dream come true for any girl if their crush would dedicate it to them. I was over the moon, having such a wonderful boyfriend, singing it for me, in a restaurant.

“The way you are / The way you are / Girl you're amazing / Just the way you are “ I stood up and walked towards him, joyous and touched tears brimming over my eyelids.

“When I see your face / There's not a thing that I would change / Cause you're amazing / Just the way you are / And when you smile /The whole world stops and stares for awhile /Cause girl you're amazing /Just the way you are… Yeahhh.” He sand the final chorus, looking at me, hitting the last C.

All the customers in the restaurant stood up and clapped. It was indeed a standing ovation. A single tear rolled down my cheeks. I was too happy to speak. How could I be so lucky? I must have done something right. Greyson wiped that tear of and planted a kiss on my cheek.
